The present study “Participation of Women in Panchayati Raj Institutions” conducted on the sample... more The present study “Participation of Women in Panchayati Raj Institutions” conducted on the sample of 50 women respondents from village Anwali District Sonipat, Haryana, India. Stratified sampling technique was adopted for selecting the sample from different wards of the village. Interview Schedule was used to collect primary data from the respondents. Analysis revealed that the awareness and constitutional knowledge of women was not satisfactory. Participation level of women in Gram Panchayats only limited, only to remain as voter. Some of the women respondents even do not know the functioning of Gram Panchayat. In Gram Panchayat election their husband and family decided that to whom that have to give vote, women do not have their own choice.

Increasingly over the last few years there is a clamour for repealing or at least amending the la... more Increasingly over the last few years there is a clamour for repealing or at least amending the land acquisition law in India. In India, the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 gives the right for Government authorities to acquire parcels of land for the implementation of development projects. The act is criticized as it give the Government Powers to acquire land forcibly without sufficiently looking into the sentiments, emotions of its owners attached to the land. Also, the compensation paid to the persons interested is nowhere near the price that the owners could have actually received for their piece of land. Another issue is the ambiguous way that "public purpose "is defined under the law. This gives the government powers to acquire land for any purpose including private companies. This paper seek to know the in-depth knowledge of the land acquisition process, in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, key issues and proposed amendments in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement (LARR) Bill 2011which attempt at 'balance' within the larger political context of land acquisition in India.

The current study was conducted to investigate the problem of unemployment among youths in Mahars... more The current study was conducted to investigate the problem of unemployment among youths in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak students from Social Science and Humanities departments only, with regards to the characteristics, magnitude and direction of change in social relationships, and the attitude of unemployed towards the society. For this purpose, 120 respondents were randomly selected from various Social Science and Humanities departments from the Maharshi Dayanand University. A majority of respondents strongly indicated their belief that persons having some job are more confident than those having none .A major proportion of the respondents believed that unemployment affects their socio-economic status, leads to feel inferiority complex and alienated from the family and society.

deteriorated. It also explores that as the society is developed in 21st century the position and respect of women is
deteriorated after so many constitutional provisions what are the factors behind it.
