By mean of mechanical alloying the synthesis of Bi 0.4 Sr 0.6 FeO 3–δ ceramic powders were achiev... more By mean of mechanical alloying the synthesis of Bi 0.4 Sr 0.6 FeO 3–δ ceramic powders were achieved according to the stoichiometric relations of Bi 2 O 3, Fe 2 O 3 and SrCO 3 initial powders. Then thermal treatments in air both 800 °C as 825 °C as at function on time was carried out on the processed ceramic powders, which were posteriorly characterized via X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric. Finally, uniaxial compaction of the chosen processed powders to 800 °C was performed adding polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or butyral alcohol (PVB) try to find a higher porosity. The milled ceramic compound presented a single cubic phase with lattice parameters of 3.95Ȧ when it was thermally treated at 800 °C and only 30 min of thermal treatment. No change on lattice parameter was found with higher treatment time. Thermogravimetric analysis showed processed powder are stable to work at the operation temperature of the solid oxide fuel cell chosen. In regard to porosity, the results showed that an ...

We present the design, construction, and implementation of thin film deposition equipment based o... more We present the design, construction, and implementation of thin film deposition equipment based on the Sol/Gel dip-coating technique for the fabrication of coatings under controlled deposition conditions and working environment at ambient temperature and pressure. The deposition system includes a 304 stainless steel structure and a moving platform that holds the substrate and is transported along vertical axes at a deposition distance of up to 30 cm in height. The mechanical and electronic design was considered, using computer-aided development and dimensional validation (for the structure and the motion transmission system) and the programming of the system using the Arduino platform. La técnica de Depósito Químico de Vapor Asistido por Aerosol (AACVD) es un proceso de atomización... more La técnica de Depósito Químico de Vapor Asistido por Aerosol (AACVD) es un proceso de atomización de la solución precursora, generando gotas que se envían por medio de un gas portador hacia la superficie del sustrato, formando una película delgada cuyas propiedades dependerán de variables como la velocidad de depósito, temperatura del sustrato, tamaño de la gota y número de capas. En éste trabajo se presentan los criterios de diseño mecánico, eléctrico y electrónico empleados para implementar la técnica. El prototipo consiste en una estructura metálica que soporta una placa calefactora y un porta-sustrato donde se ubica la muestra a recubrir; la placa es controlada con un microcontrolador de potencia para mantener constante la temperatura del sustrato. Además, se implementó un sistema de pulverización con un nebulizador ultrasónico 241TM y un sistema de calentamiento de aire con un horno en función rampa MC5438. Abstract Nanorods of aluminum doped zinc oxide films (AZO) were grown on borosilicate glass subst... more Abstract Nanorods of aluminum doped zinc oxide films (AZO) were grown on borosilicate glass substrates using an rf-sputtering technique combining simultaneously substrate twisting motion frequency with sustained rotation. Twist-motion frequency of 0.35, 0.5, and, 0.75 Hz between 40° to -40° taking the horizontal plane as reference was adjusted. Effects of this twist-motion frequency as a function of the sustained azimuth rotation of the substrate at 15, 30, and 45 rpm were observed. The morphological, optical, and structural properties were compared between films. Well defined vertical nanorods shapes were observed. The thickness of the films is affected by both twist motion and rotation speed, and the average optical transmittance was greater than 80 % which shows that all samples have high transparencies in the visible range. The combination of these growth parameters of twist and rotation of the substrate allowed us to obtain refractive index values between 1.77 and 2.11 at a wavelength of 700 nm and an energy bandgap in the range of 3.47 and 3.63 eV. The crystallite size of the nanorods obtained was between 29 and 40 nm and the films showed a preferential orientation normal at the surface film to direction of the c-crystallographic plane (002). We report compressive stress in our samples.

The results are compared with data obtained by experimental for Fe films grown by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) Magnetic measures were carried out through Magneto-Optic Kerr Effect (MOKE) revealing hard ferromagnetic behavior of the film at room temperature consistent with the simulations. The coercive field have an error of only 9% posibly due to considerations of temperatura. The magnetization diagrams and energy curves show the precense of multiple mechanism of magnetization in this system

Fe 96−x Co x C 4 (x = 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 at. %) alloys were obtained by mechanical alloying of Fe,... more Fe 96−x Co x C 4 (x = 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 at. %) alloys were obtained by mechanical alloying of Fe, C and Co powders using high-energy milling. The structural and magnetic properties of the alloy system were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) and Mössbauer Spectrometry at room temperature. The X-ray diffraction patterns showed a BCC-FeCoC structure phase for all samples, as well as a lattice parameter that slightly decreases with Co content. The saturation magnetization and coercive field were analyzed as a function of Co content. The Mössbauer spectra were fitted with a hyperfine magnetic field distribution showing the ferromagnetic behavior and the disordered character of the samples. The mean hyperfine magnetic field remained nearly constant (358 T) with Co content.

Se presentan los criterios de diseno, construccion y los parametros de operacion de un contador p... more Se presentan los criterios de diseno, construccion y los parametros de operacion de un contador proporcional de flujo de gas para la implementacion de la tecnica de espectroscopia Mossbauer de electrones de conversion integral (ICEMS). El detector opera en conjunto con un sistema de deteccion multicanal y una fuente de radiacion γ de alta energia 57Co. Se utilizo como gas multiplicador un flujo constante de una mezcla 5% de CH4 en He, el cual aumento la intensidad de la senal y protegio la superficie de la muestra de descargas electricas. En el diseno se considero un filtro interior para rayos X de baja energia que favorecio la coleccion de datos, con lo cual se registro un menor ruido de fondo y se logro optimizar el volumen de gas consumido. Con este detector ICEMS construido se pueden caracterizar eficientemente las propiedades magneticas y estados de oxidacion (interacciones hiperfinas) tanto de materiales en volumen como en peliculas delgadas. The design, construction and operation parameters of a gas flow proportional counter are presente... more The design, construction and operation parameters of a gas flow proportional counter are presented in order to implement the integral conversion electron mossbauer spectroscopy technique (ICEMS). The detector works with the support of a multi-channel detection system and a source of highenergy radiation of 57Co. A constant gas flow of a mixture of 5% CH4 in He was used as a multiplier gas, which increased the signal intensity, and protected the sample´s surface of electric shocks. An internal filter for low energy X-rays was considered during the design to achieve a lower background noise and optimize the volume of gas consumed. With this built-in ICEMS detector it is feasible to characterize efficiently the magnetic properties and oxidation states (hyperfine interactions) of both bulk materials and thin films. Se realizo la sintesis de Fe-20at%Al por aleacion mecanica (AM) para diferentes frecuencias de os... more Se realizo la sintesis de Fe-20at%Al por aleacion mecanica (AM) para diferentes frecuencias de oscilacion y tiempo de molienda, en un mezclador MM400-Restch con relacion masa bolas-masa polvo 4:1. La caracterizacion estructural se realizo por difraccion de rayos X, y la caracterizacion magnetica mediante magnetometria de muestra vibrante y espectroscopia Mossbauer de transmision (MS) a temperatura ambiente. En la primera etapa se realizo la molienda a frecuencia variable (15-30Hz) para 6 horas de molienda sin la presencia de Agente Controlador del Proceso (PCA). El analisis de los difractogramas revelo que en 25Hz inicio el proceso de formacion de la fase α-Fe(Al). Debido a la adherencia presentada por los polvos en las paredes de los jarros, en la segunda etapa se utilizo etanol como PCA variando el tiempo de molienda entre 6 y 12 horas a 25Hz. La termografia activa infrarroja por calentamiento mediante escalon de calor (TRIR) es una tecnic... more La termografia activa infrarroja por calentamiento mediante escalon de calor (TRIR) es una tecnica que permite a traves del analisis de las imagenes termograficas obtenidas, cuantificar los defectos superficiales de una superficie de estudio. Para lograr esta cuantificacion, la emisividad del blanco y la radiacion del entorno deben ser consideradas al momento de capturar una imagen. En este articulo se realizaron capturas de imagenes termograficas con una camara Fluke Ti-32, sobre muestras patron de plexiglas, aluminio, acero y titanio; usando la tecnica TRIR con un ancho de escalon de 5 minutos. Se registraron imagenes con un tiempo de muestreo de 30 segundos tanto en la etapa de calentamiento como en la etapa de enfriamiento. Los valores de emisividad se variaron entre 0.2 y 1.0 para finalmente poder cuantificar el tamano de los defectos mediante el procesamiento de las imagenes con Matlab. Se presentan los criterios de diseno, construccion y los parametros de operacion de un contador p... more Se presentan los criterios de diseno, construccion y los parametros de operacion de un contador proporcional de flujo de gas para la implementacion de la tecnica de espectroscopia Mossbauer de electrones de conversion integral (ICEMS). El detector opera en conjunto con un sistema de deteccion multicanal y una fuente de radiacion γ de alta energia 57Co. Se utilizo como gas multiplicador un flujo constante de una mezcla 5% de CH4 en He, el cual aumento la intensidad de la senal y protegio la superficie de la muestra de descargas electricas. En el diseno se considero un filtro interior para rayos X de baja energia que favorecio la coleccion de datos, con lo cual se registro un menor ruido de fondo y se logro optimizar el volumen de gas consumido. Con este detector ICEMS construido se pueden caracterizar eficientemente las propiedades magneticas y estados de oxidacion (interacciones hiperfinas) tanto de materiales en volumen como en peliculas delgadas. The design, construction and operation parameters of a gas flow proportional counter are presente... more The design, construction and operation parameters of a gas flow proportional counter are presented in order to implement the integral conversion electron mossbauer spectroscopy technique (ICEMS). The detector works with the support of a multi-channel detection system and a source of highenergy radiation of 57Co. A constant gas flow of a mixture of 5% CH4 in He was used as a multiplier gas, which increased the signal intensity, and protected the sample´s surface of electric shocks. An internal filter for low energy X-rays was considered during the design to achieve a lower background noise and optimize the volume of gas consumed. With this built-in ICEMS detector it is feasible to characterize efficiently the magnetic properties and oxidation states (hyperfine interactions) of both bulk materials and thin films. Se realizo la sintesis de Fe-20at%Al por aleacion mecanica (AM) para diferentes frecuencias de os... more Se realizo la sintesis de Fe-20at%Al por aleacion mecanica (AM) para diferentes frecuencias de oscilacion y tiempo de molienda, en un mezclador MM400-Restch con relacion masa bolas-masa polvo 4:1. La caracterizacion estructural se realizo por difraccion de rayos X, y la caracterizacion magnetica mediante magnetometria de muestra vibrante y espectroscopia Mossbauer de transmision (MS) a temperatura ambiente. En la primera etapa se realizo la molienda a frecuencia variable (15-30Hz) para 6 horas de molienda sin la presencia de Agente Controlador del Proceso (PCA). El analisis de los difractogramas revelo que en 25Hz inicio el proceso de formacion de la fase α-Fe(Al). Debido a la adherencia presentada por los polvos en las paredes de los jarros, en la segunda etapa se utilizo etanol como PCA variando el tiempo de molienda entre 6 y 12 horas a 25Hz. La termografia activa infrarroja por calentamiento mediante escalon de calor (TRIR) es una tecnic... more La termografia activa infrarroja por calentamiento mediante escalon de calor (TRIR) es una tecnica que permite a traves del analisis de las imagenes termograficas obtenidas, cuantificar los defectos superficiales de una superficie de estudio. Para lograr esta cuantificacion, la emisividad del blanco y la radiacion del entorno deben ser consideradas al momento de capturar una imagen. En este articulo se realizaron capturas de imagenes termograficas con una camara Fluke Ti-32, sobre muestras patron de plexiglas, aluminio, acero y titanio; usando la tecnica TRIR con un ancho de escalon de 5 minutos. Se registraron imagenes con un tiempo de muestreo de 30 segundos tanto en la etapa de calentamiento como en la etapa de enfriamiento. Los valores de emisividad se variaron entre 0.2 y 1.0 para finalmente poder cuantificar el tamano de los defectos mediante el procesamiento de las imagenes con Matlab.
