The purpose was to examine the extent to which legal accounting tool could be used to ensure efficacy of economic controlling in communal segment of Cross River State, Nigeria. Data were collected from both primary and secondary sources. And these data were analysed using appropriate statistical tools. Findings revealed that legal accounting tool has significantly influenced efficacy of economic controlling in communal segment of Cross River State, Nigeria. The study therefore recommended that, in considering and providing more swindle hotlines and improving the beep haranguing strategy, legal accounting tool should be given greater consideration in order to enhance the swindle revealing, enquiry and preclusion device in the communal segment. The State legal system should be up to date with cutting-edge innovation in technology to ensure permissibility of substantiation in courts for efficacious trial of unlawful and public cases.

The study adopted the ex-post facto research design. The main purpose of the study was to generally evaluate the extent to which chartering funding could be considered as a better option amongst the various options of funding and extent which chartering funding affect the return on assets of guarantee currency stores. Data were collected from the annual reports of the selected Guarantee Currency Stores and the data were analyzed using regression method. The findings revealed that there is positive and significant relationship between funding charter, debt funding and return on asset respectively. Based on the findings, it was concluded that funding charter is one of the major sources of funding any asset as this option of funding ensures ample return on asset. The policy and economic implications are that; Guarantee Currency Stores should think through and judiciously appraise funding charter alternative in the construction of their capital structure as this increases return on asset more than others sources of capital while Machinery Charter Union of Nigeria should create more awareness on the significance of funding charter to encourage those Guarantee Currency Stores seeking for funds to use either funding charter or debt capital taking into reflection the benefits of the two options in terms of improved corporate return on asset.

We have accruals components identified as facilitator of firm's earnings increase or decrease with abnormal effect on stock price performance. The researcher considered four years annual data prior to the adoption of international financial reporting standard (IFRS) from ten (10) quoted manufacturing companies. The study adopted expo-facto design that necessitated the determination of the pre-existing independent variables used in this study. Data were gathered using on-line retrieval method. Also, panel regression model was employed to combine the properties of time series and cross sectional data. The results demonstrated increase and existence of a unique long-run relationship between discretion accruals and stock prices. This implied that firms whose share prices were very high and recorded high returns in the stock market used discretionary accruals to influence their performance. The findings indicate that managers capitalize on the inefficiency of the stock market and information irregularities between investors and insiders (director) to manipulate earnings. This study recommends that regulatory authorities should enforce compliance with Accounting Standards, particularly; International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in accounting disclosure such that financial information manipulation undertaken by firms to improve earnings is eliminated.

The main objective of the study was to determine whether oil value variation impact on cost-effectiveness in the processes of wealth creation in oil and gas vending corporations in Nigeria. Data were obtained from secondary sources such as annual financial reports of corporations which were within the coverage years of investigation. Simple regression technique was used to analyze the data collected. The findings revealed that, oil value variations do not significantly affect costeffectiveness in the processes of wealth creation of oil and gas vending corporations under consideration. Based on the findings, the study recommended that the management of companies should devise effective strategies in regulating and controlling the effect of oil value variations on their corporate cost-effectiveness towards wealth creation.

These challenges are surmounted through the recognition and recording of all economic transactions in the books of account to boost stakeholder’s confidence. The study was set to examine the extent to which accruals discretionarily created by management will affect the going concern status of manufacturing firms. The expo-facto research design was adopted and data were gathered using the retrieval method. Panel regression model was employed combining the properties of time series and cross-sectional data. The study, from the empirical findings establishes that discretionary accruals exerted positive and negative significant effects on both liquidity positions and profitability levels of the studied companies, and thus affect the going concern status of manufacturing companies.

This study examined accounting behaviour of small and medium enterprises focus on sustainability and growth. The study adopted survey research design and questionnaire was structured into 4 points likert scale, responses through stratified random sampling were collated. Data gathered were analysed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test and Pearson's product moment correlation analysis. The results demonstrated that good accounting behaviour enhanced measurement of resources, internal control assessment and growth of SMEs. This study recommended that government and owners of SMEs should collaborate through capacity building in exposing the owners of SMEs to embrace a culture of record keeping so as to enhance sustainability and growth in the economy.

A sudden rise in the borrowers" demands above the expected level can lead to shortages of cash or liquid marketable assets (Oldfield and Santamero, 1997). This paper aims to analyse the liquidity risks and disclosure as well as to draw the relationship between liquidity risks and financial performance measures using return on assets (ROA) and return of equity (ROE) of the Islamic banks. Based on selected Islamic banks in Malaysia over the period from 2006 to 2008, the study also attempts to determine the impact of the global financial crisis on the Islamic banks" liquidity risks and financial performance. Findings of the study contribute towards enriching the literature on the risk management of the Islamic banks by providing deeper understanding on issues relating to liquidity risk management by the Islamic banks.

The study was carried out to examine the effects of thin capitalization and international laws on performance of multinational companies in Nigeria. Ten Samples were drawn from 17 multinational companies quoted on the Nigerian stock exchange. The expo-facto design was adopted, since the variables used existed in the company's financial report covering the period of 2012-2016. Data were gathered using on-line retrieval method. The analysis technique used was the multiple regression. Research results indicated that thin capitalization is revenue stripping techniques but it affects performance of multinational companies in Nigeria. The study therefore recommended among others that Government should design a framework that will limit debt-toequity ratio of multinational companies operating in Nigeria, since it has become imperative that companies used high leverage to generate and shift earnings without having carefully managed the accompany problems of financial distress.

Two Samples are drawn from dominant cement companies out of three functional companies quoted on the Nigerian stock exchange. Data content were reviewed through qualitative and quantitative reports of the companies from 2009-2016 and values were assigned from 1-5 based on the level of disclosure. The analysis technique used is the multiple regression. Research results indicate that companies are negligent of adhering to environmental and regulatory laws, this contributed to decrease in employee life expectancy and profit. The study therefore recommended among others that Government through it relevant agencies, should incorporate environmental audit report as a statutory requirement for Cement Company’s enlistment in the Nigeria stock exchange.

It was aimed at establishing the extent of concern of consumer goods companies in the management of their liquid cash, cash defensive intervals, long term debts, and quick ratios, for the purpose of turning around their financial performance. Data were obtained from the annual reports and accounts of studied companies and were converted to liquidity measurement parameters. Analyses were done using multiple regression analysis methods and findings show that long term debts, quick ratios, and cash defensive intervals have a significant effect on EPS and ROA, while cash ratio and long term debts affect ROCE only. Specifically, it was empirically established that there exists a significant relationship between liquidity risk management and the financial performance of consumer goods companies .Findings further reveal that companies' non-concerned attitude to liquidity risk management affects the financial performance of consumer goods companies significantly. The study recommends that consumer goods companies should incorporate a clear liquidity risk management approach in their strategic policy framework and communicate the same to all functional units. Because of the strategic importance of consumer goods companies to the living standards of consumers, these companies should also establish and monitor risk warning dashboards to promptly arrest and manage risk variability and risk volatility in this very important sector of the economy.
