The teaching learning process in any management education institutions largely depends on the ped... more The teaching learning process in any management education institutions largely depends on the pedagogies been adopted to facilitate and enhance the learning outcomes among the participants. The growing use of new teaching pedagogy like case study teaching, simulations, audio-video tool, etc is providing much needed impetus to the application of various teaching pedagogy. The authors attempt while writing this research paper is to explore the various teaching pedagogies. The study is mainly conducted by studying the perception of two very important stakeholders student and faculty members towards various teaching pedagogies been used in management institutions. The result indicates that faculty members found Power-point presentations to the easiest, followed closely by Assignments and Lectures. The revolution in communication technologies, especially after the invention of the internet, has introduced new methods of teaching and new ways of managing education. Various Learning Management Systems, such as WebCT, Black Board and Learning Spaces are now available for these purposes. Both open source and commercial versions of these LMSs offer combined services such as creating learning material online and its distribution, facilitating communications between various users etc. The availability of Learning Management Systems has enabled stakeholders in creating a platform that aids in web-based teaching in a convenient and flexible manner. Using the extended task-technology fit (TTF) model, this paper aims to examine satisfaction and u... more Using the extended task-technology fit (TTF) model, this paper aims to examine satisfaction and usability of internet usage on students’ assignment completion tasks and their performance. In the extended TTF model, technology resistance and technology usage was also considered. The study was conducted at a management institute in Mumbai and questionnaires were distributed to 221 post-graduate students. The results indicate that technology satisfaction and the internet usage significantly explains the variance on students’ performance. Task-technology fit is the predictor for internet usage, whereas it is not a predictor for technology resistance. Technology Satisfaction is the predictor of Technology resistance, student’s performance and internet usage. Internet usage is the predictor of Technology satisfaction and student’s performance. Laptops come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, each with its own set of pros and cons. While the ... more Laptops come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, each with its own set of pros and cons. While the smallest laptops are the most portable, they also have smaller keyboards and displays, fewer features, and slower performance than their bulkier brethren. Conversely, more full-featured laptops are generally more difficult to carry and take up more space on your desk and in your bag. Until they make the perfect laptop, the consumer has to sacrifice something. So the consumer has to think about what's most important - computing power, a complete set of features, long battery life, good looks, brand, a small form factor, or a low price etc. This study is aimed at understanding the consumer perception as to what are they looking for when they buy a laptop. The study also tries to find out if there is any correlation between the consumer's lifestyle and his laptop preferences. The study would be useful for all the laptop manufacturing companies and laptop retailers.

The aim of this paper is to explore and compare various distance education methodologies with res... more The aim of this paper is to explore and compare various distance education methodologies with respect to ICT used in the selected Indian business schools. This research is based on a study of the perception of two very important stakeholders – the students and the employers, towards factors such as ease of use, satisfaction, effectiveness, and employability, for an analysis of the best practices through which distance education is imparted. The results indicate that students found recorded and online lectures to be the easiest, in terms of use, while personal contact programmes to be the most satisfying. Overall, virtual classroom and personal contact programmes were given the highest rank. The related implications for distance education management institutions were also discussed in the paper.

Information and communication technology (ICT) which includes radio, television and newer digital... more Information and communication technology (ICT) which includes radio, television and newer digital technology such as computers and the internet, are potentially powerful tools for extending educational opportunities, formal and nonformal, to one and all. It provides opportunities to deploy innovative teaching methodologies and interesting material that creates an interest in students. This study is to determine the critical factors that impact the effective use of ICT in management education from students' and teachers' perspective, and to identify the expectations and gaps in its use in management education. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted and the perception of various stakeholders of the importance of these factors was analyzed. The study was conducted at various management institutes across the city of Navi Mumbai. Data analysis revealed that various categories of respondents gave significantly different importance to factors relevant for the effective use of ICT. Notably, there was a significant gap between the respondents' expectations and the actual satisfaction with the current usage of ICT. Certain factors which appeared to be barriers towards ICT usage were also found from the analysis. The findings could be useful to any management institution which is thinking of making effective use of ICT in its curriculum.
