Appropriate Blood sugar controlling measures could reduce or delay the onset and progression of diabetes complications. Considering the importance of providing cares for diabetic patients that has been implied by the American Diabetes Association, this study was conducted to check the status of the diabetes cares provided in the Ahvaz diabetes clinics. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted by convenient sampling Method on 296 diabetic patients referred to the diabetes clinics in the Ahvaz. Data was collected from patients through questionnaires, medical records and blood A1C hemoglobin measurement through a blood test. Data was analyzed using SPSS software (version 21) with a significance level of less than 0.05 and descriptive statistics, Paired t-test and chi-square. Results: The results showed that the majority of patients (70.9%) were women in the age range of 80-56 years (76.8%). A large percentage (79%) of patient has high blood pressure but only 45.3% of them were taking ASA. the 83.8% of people has high blood fat, and most of them (66.8%) had non-standard hemoglobin A1C. The annual examination of the heart (ECG) and eye exams was done in 70.9% and 82.4% of patients respectively. But a small percentage of patients, 18.2% and 29% respectively, underwent neurological examination and foot examination. Kidney tests and measurement of blood fat and blood were done in 82.4%, 98.6% and 89.9% of patients, respectively. Conclusion: Despite the desirability of the care provided in most cases and their compliance with the international standards of American Diabetes Association, we see lacks of proper control of blood glucose in these patients. As a result, the evaluation of the quality of cares provided at the national level, introducing appropriate solutions, as well as relying on the necessity of patient and health workers adherence with the medical cares are suggested to improvement of the health status of individuals.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess the effects of the continuous care model (CCM) on sleep quality, pain, fatigue, and nausea among patients with BC who were receiving chemotherapy. Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 78 patients with BC who referred in April-June 2013 to the chemotherapy clinic of Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences, Ahvaz, Iran. Initially, patients were paired with each other respecting their age, type of surgery, and educational level, and then through tossing a coin, one patient in each pair was randomly allocated to the intervention and the other to the control group. The CCM was used for care provision to patients in the intervention group, while care services were provided to patients in the control group through routine methods. Data were collected 4 days after chemotherapy onset and 2 months after the intervention using a demographic questionnaire, a visual analog scale for nausea assessment, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, the Brief Fatigue Inventory, and a 10-cm ruler for pain assessment. For data analysis, the independent-sample t and the Chi-square tests were used. Results: Before the intervention, the groups did not significantly differ from each other concerning the scores of sleep quality, fatigue, pain, and nausea (P > 0.05). However, after the intervention, between-group differences of the intervention group and the controls were statistically significant for sleep quality (7.81 ± 4.50 vs. 16.80 ± 4.32, P < 0.0001), fatigue (36.23 ± 15.60 vs. 61.00 ± 12.32, P < 0.0001), pain (2.90 ± 2.82 vs. 6.81 ± 2.31, P < 0.0001), and nausea (2.16 ± 2.90 vs. 5.2 ± 2.93, P < 0.0001). Conclusion: This study proves the positive effects of the CCM on sleep quality, pain, fatigue, and nausea among patients with BC. Nurses can use this model to improve the patient outcomes.

The triangulation study was conducted in order to Survey of Iranian Physician's view about Telemedicine and its Potential use in Medical Practice. The descriptive_ analysis study was done in two main phases. First, various aspects of telemedicine were evaluated and identified by 22 experts on Delphi method and was designed a questionnaire. After its validity and reliability were confirmed (%87). 235 physicians completed questionnaire. The data were analyzed by spss software. Findings showed that treating physicians would have fully agreed about the aspects of running time of treatment and care and costs and economic problems. However, their views were negative with the rules and confidentiality of information and physician-patient relationship. It is recommended that authorities establish the appropriate infrastructures to launch this system and hold appropriate training for users in order to making optimum use of the system.
