The success of this work made us think about the need for its translation into Russian. It was decided to entrust the translation to the author of “Mastorava” - Alexander Markovich Sharonov, who is equally fluent in Erzya and Russian. As anthropomorphic characters of novels, the city acts as a full-fledged artistic image. It is established that London is a center of plot nodes contraction and appears to be versatile and multifaceted. On the one hand, it is a city in which all provincial residents rush. They dream of finding themselves here and occupying a worthy position in life. On the other hand, the writer portrays London as the personification of cold, deceitful relationships, alienation of people in high society. It combines contrasting pictures of luxury and poverty, grandeur and squalor; it lives by a separate independent life and affects the feelings and actions of heroes. The article notes that London is always accompanied by landscape sketches in Dickens' novels. Most often, these are stable and multifunctional images of fog and cold. In the novel "The Adventures of Oliver Twist," fog and cold become symbols of the concealment of the dirty deeds of the cruel and criminal world of London, in which the protagonist is originally immersed. In the novel "Bleak House", they are the personification of the Supreme Court, and in "Dombey and Son", the descriptions of cold, foggy, and gray London represent the cold of human relations that reigns in the family of financial magnate Mr. Dombey.

They are of the same importance as the narratives about the creation of the Earth and Human, as they continue the theme of creating the world, but in the household and family sphere. Their central heroes are gods and goddesses, but like grooms and brides, they are similar to people, and the wedding ceremony is held according to terrestrial customs and traditions. In the myth, the sky is identical with the earth: there are quite earthly houses, quite earthly roads along which earthly horses are galloping. The heavenly bride and groom do not differ in any way from the earthly ones. The transfer of the «earth» is explained by the fact, that people could not imagine a different environment of the gods, than the one they knew. Therefore, people similized the life of gods with the human one, excluding only a peasant labor from it. Never...

Sharonov This article focuses on the specifics of the development of folk stories and characters, the connection between Gods and people in the authentic works, and the projection of authentic motifs and heroes onto the author’s text. Unlike the authentic epic, the literary epic consists of different genres joined by the author’s idea. There is the dominance of the epic genres (myths, legends, tales), as well as some proverbs, ritual, and lyrical songs. The symbiosis of different genres, plots, motifs, and characters makes a unique literary work based on folklore material. There are no Kalevala, Kalevipoeg, or Mastorava in Finnish, Estonian, and Erzyan folklore. All of them are the creation of authors. The main task of the literary epic is to put the ancient epic text into a new shell according to the author’s aest...

Never...
