Nobody could have imagined the dimensions of the current economic and social crisis when the housing bubble burst in 2008. Recession, corruption, about 6 million people unemployed 1 , drastic cuts in social services, limited access to justice, a reduction in family allowances, and the public debt approaching 100% of the PIB 2 have resulted in an increase in poverty, malnutrition and social exclusion in the country.
