Essa crise tem gerado reflexos em diversas localidades, inclusive no Brasil. A recepção de refugiados sírios passou a ser uma realidade, principalmente a partir de 2012, e provocou a reflexão acerca das estruturas jurídico-institucionais até então existentes no Brasil. The war in Syria has contributed to the drastic increase in the number of refugees in the world w... more The war in Syria has contributed to the drastic increase in the number of refugees in the world within the last few years. This crisis has generated reflections in several localities, including in Brazil. Syrian refugee reception has become a reality, especially as of 2012, promoting a reflection regarding the legal-Institutional structures existing in Brazil so far. The present academic work aims to contextualize the recent scenario of the migratory flows rate in Brazil, identifying which are the national and international legal sources adopted by the country to deal with the refuge issue, the existing institutional framework to attend the demands of the refugees, and the actors who are involved in the issue. In light of this context, the main objective of the work is to analyse these sources under the perspective of the public policy of integration of refugees and their dialogue with the oral source, that is, the reports collected from Syrian refugees regarding to their own experiences of having a refugee status in Brazil, greatest challenges, aspirations and obstacles faced for integration in the country. Thus, based on official government data and academic analysis on the subject, it was possible to contextualize the speech of the interviewed Syrian refugees. The interviews were conducted through techniques developed by oral history and discourse analysis. In view of the dialogue between sources, official, oral and academic, it was possible to conclude that Brazil does not have specific public policies to integrate the Syrian refugees, especially considering the period in which the interviewees arrived in Brazil, that is, between 2014 and 2016. The Brazilian lack of prepare identified in receiving this migratory flow has brought traumatic experiences to the interviewees, as it is possible to verify in the reports collected. From these results, it can be concluded that actions designed and implemented to respond to the recent refugee demands have been ineffective in integrating refugees and enabling them to have full access to essential rights and basic services. That conclusion is particularly demonstrated by the absence of coordination between the main actors involved in the integration of refugees in the country, namely, the Government in its various spheres, the civil society and refugees themselves.
