We introduce the concept of "spatio-data coordination" (SD coordination) which defines the mappin... more We introduce the concept of "spatio-data coordination" (SD coordination) which defines the mapping of user actions in physical space into the space of data in a visualisation. SD coordination is intended to lower the user's cognitive load when exploring complex multidimensional data such as biomedical data, multiple data attributes vs time in a space-time-cube visualisation, or three-dimensional projections of three-or-higher-dimensional data sets. To inform the design of interaction devices to allow for SD coordination, we define a design space and demonstrate it with sketches and early prototypes of three exemplar devices for SD coordinated interaction.

To enhance the scientific research participation of the medical postgraduates, and pro-mote core ... more To enhance the scientific research participation of the medical postgraduates, and pro-mote core competitiveness of the medical colleges, based on analysis of the necessity of patent application in medical colleges postgraduate, we constructed the teaching teams including the medical professors, patent engineers, graduate teaching manager, and science and technology managers. The problem-based learning (PBL) and case-based learning (CBL) as teaching methods were used in practice. The patent courses included the reference search and analysis, basic knowledge of patent law, and patent application training module were constructed; and the teaching effect were evaluated and optimized through the scores of the patent basic theory test, research output, and the training of the patent application. The Tri-Level parallel programming pattern of MPI+OpenMP+CUDA, which enables better speedup for a... more The Tri-Level parallel programming pattern of MPI+OpenMP+CUDA, which enables better speedup for applications on popular multi-core architecture cluster, is increasingly admired by research institutions and companies. The interaction of particles of molecular dynamics simulation needs extensive calculation, which will also increases with the extension of system. Therefore higher performance for the computing capability and storage ability of current high performance computer is required. As one of main softwares of molecular dynamics simulation, GROMACS can be used for the simulation of hundreds of or even millions of atoms. Based on this kind of hybrid parallel programming pattern, the latest version of GROMACS has higher operation efficiency and shorter simulation time. In this paper, we take advantage of two different sizes of protein simulation system as the data of GROMACS for the molecular simulation of different parallel granularity on mixed cluster which is based on Intel Xeon5650 and NVIDIA C2050. By the result of experiment, we have obtained the best mechanism of hybird CPU-GPU cluster and analyzed the advantage of MPI+OpenMP+CUDA hybrid parallel programming pattern. In the end, we compared GROMACS4.6 with GROMACS4.5. The results of the test also provide a reference for scientists who work on building large-scale molecular dynamics simulation platform and observe the molecular dynamics simulation.

Immersive Analytics is an emerging research thrust investigating how new interaction and display ... more Immersive Analytics is an emerging research thrust investigating how new interaction and display technologies can be used to support analytical reasoning and decision making. The aim is to provide multi-sensory interfaces that support collaboration and allow users to immerse themselves in their data in a way that supports real-world analytics tasks. Immersive Analytics builds on technologies such as large touch surfaces, immersive virtual and augmented reality environments, sensor devices and other, rapidly evolving, natural user interface devices. While there is a great deal of past and current work on improving the display technologies themselves, our focus in this position paper is on bringing attention to the higher-level usability and design issues in creating effective user interfaces for data analytics in immersive environments.

Murine CD4 mAbs have shown potential for the treatment of allograft rejection and autoimmune diso... more Murine CD4 mAbs have shown potential for the treatment of allograft rejection and autoimmune disorders including rheumatoid arthritis. Clinical usefulness of the murine mAbs has been limited by immunogenicity and a short circulating half-life. Mouse/human chimeric antibodies have been constructed, composed of the variable region of M-T412 (a murine G2a mAb specific for the human CD4 molecule) and human G1 (cM-T412 G1) or G4 (cM-T412 G4) Fc regions. F(ab')2 and F(ab) fragments of the murine G2a and chimeric G1 mAbs were generated by enzymatic digestion. The chimeric mAbs and all fragments retained the avidity and specificity of the murine M-T412 and were evaluated in in vitro assays measuring Ig production by pokeweed mitogen (PWM)-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), sIL-2R produced by phytohemagglutinin-stimulated PBMC, and proliferation in response to tetanus toxoid, CD3 mAb plus IL-2, and mixed lymphocyte response (MLR). When PBMC were stimulated with tetanus toxoid, 10 ng/ml of cM-T412 G1 inhibited proliferation by 90%, while neither the cM-T412 G4, M-T412 G2a, nor any mAb fragment produced > 65% inhibition, even at 1000-fold higher concentrations. A similar pattern of inhibition was observed in MLR assays. In contrast, the F(ab')2 fragment of the cM-T412 G1 was as effective as the whole antibody in inhibiting PWM-stimulated IgM synthesis and PBMC proliferation in response to stimulation by a CD3 mAb plus IL-2.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
