were laid in the Autonomous Province of the Nagorno-Karabakh, and the
decision of the session of the Soviet of People’s Deputies of the
Autonomous Province of the Nagorno-Karabakh dated February 20, 1988
(that session adopted a decision on the secession of the Autonomous
Province of the Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan and its annexation to
Armenia; the decision was published on 21.02.88) was the manifestation
of the signs of nationalistic sentiments in the Autonomous Province of the
Nagorno-Karabakh. Further I stated that the grounds for Sumgayit events
had been laid by those extremists who passed the above-stated decision
and that those extremists had that criminal case on their conscience.
Besides, explaining the reasons for the Sumgayit events, I presented
the murder of the young Azerbaijanis in Asgeran and the Autonomous
Province of the Nagorno-Karabakh, and the brutal expatriation of
thousand Azerbaijanis from their native hearths a instigating factors.
Speaking also about the activities of the association “Krunk” led by
Manucharov, I mentioned that this association had started to disseminate
nationalism, extremism, having defined as its final goal the separation of
the Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan and its annexation to Armenia;
all these circumstances paved the way for the start of disturbances in
Sumgayit by the forces of specially trained people.
Remembering the session of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 6
March 1988, I further focused attention on the fact that the ideas stated
then about “the dynamite first laid beneath the foundations of
internationalism of the USSR” had originated from the decision of the
session of the Soviet of the People’s Deputies of the Autonomous Province
of the Nagorno-Karabakh dated 20.02.88 and that it was this very decision
which gave impetus to the break of shattering of internationalism in the
USSR.

The utmost brutality and atrocity of the overall conflict is memorized with Khojaly Massacre committed against Azerbaijani civilians on 26 February 1992. Hence, the article unveils evidences through the scrutiny of secondary data from academic sources, publications, and news materials published by international media. The particular focus of the study is concentrated on to what extend special plan was prepared deliberately for ethnic cleansing in Khojaly during the Nagorno-Karabakh war.

entire spectrum of contemporary social studies first publicly appeared
and was officially put into circulation in the United States of America in
1982 by Andrew Corsun, a member of the U.S. Department of State’s
Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s Threat Analysis Division (DS/TAD).
He wrote an article in the August issue of The U.S. Department of State
Bulletin for that year called “Armenian Terrorism: A Profile,”1 which
immediately turned this phrase into a sociopolitical neologism. Publication
of this article aroused such a wide public response and mass protests
from the Armenian Diaspora throughout the world that editorial board
was compelled to apologize and inform its readers on the title page of the
September issue (admittedly in small print) that “the article does not
necessarily reflect the official position of the U.S. State Department, and
the interpretive comments in the article are solely the choice of the
author.”2 Nevertheless, thanks to Andrew Corsun, the term “Armenian
terrorism” has assumed a place of its own in contemporary political science
and remains current to this day, particularly in Europe and the New
World (to which Turkey and Azerbaijan also belong)

Today ethnic separatism is considered a serious threat to all progressive
mankind. The aggressive Armenian separatism is certainly amongst its dangerous
manifestations. This anti-human phenomenon openly instilling a sense of hatred
towards everything Turkic is based on the territorial claims against neighbouring
nations and achievement of the notorious idea of «The Great Armenia» via
annexations, genocide, acts of terror, mass deportations and war, by pursuit of
an aggressive policy. Pursuing these goals, Armenian nationalism operates on
the principle «whatever it takes…» descending to the falsification of history and
appropriation of other nations’ material and cultural resources.
