The restoration can play a crucial role in deve...

Several churches can be reinterpreted using some of the original drawings in order to evaluate language choices made by architects of the past. This is the case of the San Lorenzo church in Montedinove (Ascoli Piceno). The completion of its main front never started, so, through video-projection is possible realize a virtual fulfillment, in order to restore and amplify the cultural, historical and symbolic values of the ancient architecture. single paragraph of about 100 words to give a brief introduction to your work

These towers are vulnerable structures that are prone to earthquake damage. Hence, the design of effective seismic upgrading interventions is an important task for preserving such architectural forms for future generations. In view of that, the objective of this study is to contribute a possible addition to the portfolio of available approaches for seismic upgrading of masonry towers. This goal was pursued by exploring an innovative structural solution that does not alter the external appearance of the tower and its static scheme under gravity loads, yet is able to increase its capacity to withstand seismic actions through added damping. Specifically, the proposed solution consists of a steel structure internal to the masonry tower that incorporates fluid viscous dampers. In order to evaluate its potentialities, a real case study was taken as a testbed structure, histo...

The object of study was the Rocca Roveresca Fortress complex in Senigallia (Marche, Italy), a unique example of a small 14th-century fortress shaped by a series of successive modifications. It currently houses a national museum. An integrated survey based on the acquisition of 3D laser-scanner data and endoscopic investigation was necessary to outline the traces of the stratifications and therefore to obtain different highand low-poly 3D models useful for different purposes. The main objective was to propose an ideal workflow in developing 3D models that are useful for finite element method (FEM) analysis to detect hidden vulnerabilities in the fortress by evaluating the behaviour of several substructures in the walls.

It should, in fact, carefully rethink the old building systems, groped to use new instruments, mostly of a technical nature, in the implementation of actions for the maintenance, in the first instance, and for the restoration. The range of possible design solutions is extremely various in terms of size, invasiveness and complexity, as well as materials, techniques and embodiments, in a cultural reality that involved questions of tradition and innovation. In the image of the city, the road surfaces play an important role that encompasses a strong contextual value and identity and that is manifested by the geographical location of the city itself, and by the climatic factors in the geological, topography and morphology configuration, factors that are related to the urba...
