First, we calculate the Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) index to know the pattern of comparative advantage for each the East Asian countries. Second, we calculate the distribution of RSCA (value of mean, median, standard deviation and skewness of comparative advantage) from each the East Asian countries to analyze the dynamics of comparative advantage. Third, we examine the correlation of Indonesia’s RSCA with the RSCA of each the East Asian countries for the period 1995-2015 to determine whether Indonesia has a similar pattern of specialization and whether competing in the same product market with the East Asian countries. The result of t...

This research using the panel data that consist of time series data and cross sec66tion data of 21 go public banks inIndonesiawithGeneralized Least Squaremethod and Random Effect Model approach. The result of this research shows that the Capital Adequacy Ratio, Loan to Deposit Ratio, and Operational Cost to Operational Income had significantly influenced the profitability of go public banks in Indonesia during the period of 2000-2007.

It focuses on measuring the comparative advantage using the Trade Balance Index (TBI) by Lafay method. The data is based on exports and imports of Indonesian agriculture sector. By applying Lafay Trade Balance Index (TBI) methods, it can be concluded that Indonesian agriculture commodity shows the positive value of TBI for export-import volume and export-import value. It means that Indonesia becomes net-exporter and has specialization in exporting agriculture commodity.

The method used in this research is Fixed-Effect technique of individuals and communities, Instrumental Variables techniques, and Probit models. The result of this research showed that variable microfinance has positive and significant effect on the community level fixed-effect for variable outcomes current contraceptive use. Then for variable not want any more children, all have positive and significant impact of all methods, this meaning that the probability of contraceptive use for women who have no desire to add a child is higher than women who do not have the desire to not add the child.

This study uses a principal component analysis (PCA) method to reduce six WGI indexes and performs panel data regression analysis using fixed-effect GLS (cross-section weights). This study uses data from World Bank for FDI, WGI, and several control variables. The results of this study have provided empirical evidence that good governance is a very important key factor in encouraging FDI inflows to host countries. This study finds three governance elements that have a positive relationship with FDI inflows in ASEAN countries are the quality of regulations, rule of law, and control of corruption.

This paper analyzes whether East Asian countries (Indonesia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea... more This paper analyzes whether East Asian countries (Indonesia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Singapore) specialize on product groups with high comparative advantage. We use the data on the 3-digit SITC Revision 2 for 237 product groups published by the UN-COMTRADE. Firstly, we calculate the Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) index to know the product groups with high comparative advantage from each the East Asian countries. Secondly, we calculate the export share to know the trade specialization of product groups from each the East Asian countries. Thirdly, we compare between the product groups included in top-twenty SITC of comparative advantage with top-twenty SITC of trade specialization from each the East Asian countries. This paper concludes that throughout the study periods of 1995, 2005, and 2015, East Asian countries (Indonesia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Singapore) specialize on product groups with low comparative advantage. It was also...
