The paper adopted exploratory research method through literature scrutiny and scanning for relevant facts to assist in the achievement of the paper objectives. The public sector accounting system of Ghana and Nigeria were reviewed and was found that some of the differences that exist were as a result of the governance system (unitary and federal). It was also found that Nigeria has a unique system of allocating revenue collected to its various constituencies on monthly basis. The two countries are working gradually toward the implementation and adoption of International Financial Reporting System for the public sector. Also both countries are using modified cash basis of accounting along side with fund accounting. The bases of monitoring and evaluating budget are not well defined or benchmarked thus making performa...

Final year students of all modes were sampled, and copies of thequestionnairewere administered. Data were analyzed with frequency distribution table, Pearson correlation, and regression model. It was foundthat students' awareness of the use of social network profile information of job applicants by employers, influences students' social network behavior but at aninsignificant level. Also, students' social network behavior insignificantly influences their approval of employers using job applicants' social network profile in screening and selection. Further, High GPA and female students exhibited good social networkbehavior. Based on the findings of the study, it is recommended that students should be mindful of their behavior on social networks since bad behavior can deny them their job.

These crimes affect all firms and the economies of nations (developed, developing and under-developed). Continuous research confirmed a strong demand for the need of the prevention and detection of these crimes by institutions and nations. However, economic and financial crimes are difficult to detect and most of those detected are not reported for the fear of bad publicity and loss of investor confidence. Forensic accountants are perceived to have the training and skills needed to combat economic and financial crimes. Therefore, the research examined the relevance of forensic accounting technique application in the combating of these crimes in Ghana. In addition, more investments take place on a global level. Before the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), different countries developed their own national accounting standards or adopted that of other countries. However, movement of business toward a global economy brought challenges in comparability, objectivity, reliability, understandability among others. These issues have accelerated the need to move toward global accounting standards. Thus these challengesspelt the need for a single set of high quality and globally accepted accounting standards. Ghana and Nigeria are major trade partners and due to different timing of the adoption of IFRS, this research was conducted tocompare the IFRS adoption and implementation of these countries through a literature review. It was found that Ghana and Nigeriacommenced the adoption process in 2005 and 2010 respectively. It was revealed that, the national standards of Ghana and Nigeria were closely related and had both suffered lack of certain standards and disclosurerequirements. Besides, it was revealed that the IFRS'adoption and implementation demands a new set of skills and expertise, transitional challenges, dealing with inconsistencies in applicable laws, emerging technical areas and terminologies; also frequent reviews of standards, higher demand for auditors among others despites the benefits that came with it.This study recommends that, both Ghana and Nigeria should work on skills and expertise gap through training and development andto ensure that these standards are included in the academic and professional curricula. Systems designed expected to accumulate costs for the purpose of ascertaining product and period costs in order to plan profit have failed to identify responsibility managers who should control these costs. This study sought to review literature on the controllability principle in responsibility accounting concept as a determinant of profit planning. Arising from this study, controllability establishes and reports the cause and effect relationships between activities of specific managers and the performance of their activities. It is also observed that in addition to assigning costs to specific responsibility centres, two extreme levels of the application of the controllability principle exist. These are the low level and high level controllability accounting application systems. Nonetheless, there are some organizations that fall within the continuum of these application systems.

It involves a wide range of undercover crimes perpetrated by employees at all levels of an organizational hierarchy. In recent years, the media has constantly reported on these malfeasances to the disappointment of the public. In response to the several corporate scandals, many organizations have instituted strong internal control systems, procedures and programs as well as corporate governance to safeguard their organizations from occupational fraudsters. However, these efforts have proven futile because they don’t touch the ‘heart’. Therefore, we contend that corporate culture plays a critical role in managing the risks of fraudulent acts. Particularly, when ethics is solidly implanted in corporate culture and exemplified by top leadership, an organization is more likely to minimize internal scams. Consequently, and board and management should create and sustain an ethical corporate culture that integrates an organization...

HRIS is perceived to contribute to the effectiveness of manpower activities (human resources planning) in organizations. This paper interviewed two HRIS managers in the hospitality industry in Greater Region (Ghana) to identify the benefits, contributions and the challenges of HRIS. It was revealed that HRIS identified unfilled positions, accurately analyzed each job position and its job title in the organization, providing insight into organizational training needs, selected the right persons to be trained at the right time, evaluated the effectiveness of training programs and made faster and better decisions about successor ranking. It was therefore concluded that HRIS played a major role in the management of human resources. Organizations should integrate HRIS with other organizational systems to facilitate speedily sharing of information and decision making.
