Based on the World Health Organization (WHO), the definition of a child is from the time a person... more Based on the World Health Organization (WHO), the definition of a child is from the time a person is in the womb until the age of 19 years old. Children are national assets that will carry on the progress of a nation, so their growth and development must be considered. Children are the most important resource for future economic growth (UNICEF, 2018). The toddler period is also critical and golden. The sensitive period in children is different. This statement is in line with the rate of growth and development of children (Ardi et al., 2021). In 2019, the number of children in Indonesia reached 84.4 million, consisting of 43.2 million boys and 41.1 million girls. The number of children in Indonesia was 31.6%, an increase of 1.5% from 2018, about 4.9 million people. The environment is one of the most necessary factors in the development of children. Data from the Ministry of PPPA (2020) recorded that in 2018, there were 4.82% of children who did not live with their parents. According to a survey by the Child Protection Commission (KPAI) in Indonesia in 2015, 66.4% of fathers and 71% of mothers adopted their parenting style (Hanafiah, 2022; Lestari et al., 2019). The results of the KPAI study showed that 47.1% of fathers and 40.6% of mothers communicated with their children only for one hour (Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesian, 2020). Parenting self-efficacy is defined as parents' belief in their ability to positively influence their children's behaviour and development, as well as parental confidence in their ability to raise children. It is expected that the process of child development will also lead to positive development (Cobb-Clark, Salamanca, & Zhu, 2019). Parenting self-efficacy (PSE) describes parents' belief in their ability to perform a parenting role successfully. Consistently higher levels of PSE correlate

In helping to maintain reproductive health, of course, there needs to be other factors that can support the achievement of reproductive health maintenance such as sources of information, knowledge, and attitudes. This study aims is to determine the influence of sources of information, knowledge, and attitudes toward the reproductive health of blind adolescents in the Sukabumi. A source of information is a set of useful information to meet the need for information or news for the wider community. Knowledge is the result of knowing and this happens after a person performs sensing of an object. Attitude is the readiness to react to an object in a certain environment as a passion for an object. Behavior is a person's response or reaction to a stimulus. This type of research is correlational with the cross-sectional approach. Total sampling was used for the population and sample of 42 blind adolescents in Sukabumi. Statistical analysis was done using multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a significant influence of information sources on the reproductive health behavior of blind adolescents (p-value 0.000), there was a relationship of knowledge on the reproductive health behavior of blind adolescents (p-value 0.000), and there was knowledge of attitudes toward reproductive health behaviors of blind adolescents (p-value 0.000). There is a simultaneous influence of sources of information, knowledge and attitudes towards reproductive health behaviors of blind adolescents (p-value 0.000). It can be concluded that sources of information, knowledge, and attitudes have an influence on the reproductive health behavior of adolescents with visual disabilities. This study's findings can be used to further investigate reproductive health in blind adolescents.

Thus, it is common for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients to be depressed, and with the progression of CKD, their overall quality of life (QOL) could decrease. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the relationship between depression and QOL among patients undergoing hemodialysis in Indonesia. This cross-sectional research was conducted at a West Java Province, Indonesia, public health center, from August to December 2020. The inclusion criteria of participants were over the age of 20 and having been undergoing HD for at least six months. Depression was evaluated using the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) and QOL was measured using The Kidney Disease and Life Quality-SF v1.3 Survey (The KDQOL-SF v1.3). Pearson's correlation analysis was used to investigate the correlation between depression and QOL. There were 190 respondents out of 225 (response rate: 84.4%), including 100 patients with CKD stages 1-3 (response rate: 75.6%). No correlation was found between demographic characteristics and QOL in HD patients (p > 0.05). The Indonesian KDQOL-SFTM v1.3 was associated with the BDI-II, and r ranged from 00.354 to 0.486. In order to increase QOL, it is recommended that depression is treated with routine follow-up in a collaborative care approach because intensive treatment is not normally reproduced in real-world practices.

Individuals who use proactive coping will improve their environment and life rather than reacting to the past and planning for the future by constructing and pooling available resources to deal with stressors. However, instruments measured proactive coping toward smoking cessation are limited. This study aimed to develop and test the validity and reliability of proactive coping toward smoking cessation in adolescents. The data collection process was divided into two phases, namely instrument development and psychometric testing. Exploratory factor analysis and reliability testing were conducted on 300 adolescents. Proactive coping smoking cessation (PCSC) is the development of proactive coping inventory (PCI). Loading factor coefficient on support seeking 0.54-0.82, reflective coping 0.585-0.823, strategic planning 0.580-0.736, proactive coping 0.439-0.648, avoidance 0.586-0.826 and preventive coping 0.507-0.707. Cronbach's alpha for PCSC ranged from 0.970 to 0.972. PCSC shows the acceptable internal and external consistency and the results of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) verify that the six-factor model correctly represents the original PCI factor structure. Future studies are required to test the instrument in different setting and culture

Experts argue, however, that measuring the aspect of psychosocial trauma in a different language has limitations, especially among hospitalised children under the age of six. As a result, the study sought to revise and validate a trustworthy, child-friendly VAS for use in Indonesia. Methods: A preliminary survey was conducted among 81 respondents that met the inclusion criteria. An expert committee reviewed and revised the VAS-Anxiety-Indonesia for sensitivity and content validity. Thus, the Centre of Indonesia Language was charged with forward and backward translation from English to Indonesian and vice versa. In this study, data were collected in two phases. The first was the preliminary data collection from 21 respondents for face and content validity. The second phase recruited 60 respondents with retests and confirmations of modified items and components of VAS-A-Indonesia. Sta...

The use of digital media is a promising strategy to address adolescent health. AIM: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of digital media-base on smoking cessation programs toward empowerment among adolescents in Indonesia. METHODS: This was a quasi-experimental design with pre-and post-instruments employing the youth group member survey. Quantitative data were evaluated using the Mann-Whitney U-test to examine changes in participants' degree of adolescent empowerment toward smoking cessation between the control and intervention groups. RESULTS: A total of 170 adolescent smokers agreed to join this study, with 85 participants in each group. There is a significant difference in adolescent empowerment between the control group and the intervention group, as shown by p < 0.05. CONCLUSION: Digital media-based smoking cessation programs are promising techniques (with potential benefits) for increasing adolescent empowerment. The future studies should employ more rigorous procedures and a larger sample size to support this finding.
