We present a case of a 53-year-old man with a history of HIV and alcohol abuse who presented to the emergency room with hematemesis and melena. Upper endoscopy revealed an actively bleeding dieulafoy lesion, but due to uncontrolled bleeding, embolization of the left artery was necessitated. The incidence of dieulafoy lesions is about 0.3% to 6.7% within the stomach. The etiology remains uncertain but has been linked to alcoholism and antiplatelet drugs. We are emphasizing the importance of considering uncommon causes of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with portal hypertension.

An increase in the secretion of sex steroids by the gonads in this form is a consequence of the stimulation of the sex glands by gonadotropic hormones of the pituitary gland. In the absence of central nervous system abnormalities, CPP is classified as idiopathic and as familial in some cases, emphasizing the genetic origin of this disorder. Loss-of-function mutations in Makorin Ring Finger Protein 3 ( MKRN3 ) are the most common identified genetic cause of central precocious puberty compared to sporadic cases. In the present study we performed the first descrition of 3 family cases of central precocious puberty duo to novel MKRN3 gene mutation detected by NGS in the Russian Federation.

Methods: We reported the clinical implementation of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) measurement for routine AKI diagnostic workup of patients receiving nephrology consultation in a tertiary academic centre. Specific focus was made on the diagnostic performance to discriminate functional (“pre-renal”) from intra-renal AKI and to predict AKI progression. Results: Forty-five urine NGAL (uNGAL) and 25 plasma NGAL (pNGAL) samples in the first 50 consecutive patients were analysed. KDIGO Stage 1, 2, 3 AKI, and renal replacement therapy occurred in 10%, 40%, 50%, and 24% of cases, respectively. The uNGAL was lower in patients with transient AKI (<48 h) and no sign of urinary tract infections (37 [25–167] ng/mL) than...

In this article, the model order reduction of a stable doubly fed induction generator based variable-speed wind turbines model is performed with the aid of the proposed stability preserving balanced realization algorithm based on discrete frequency weights and limited frequency-interval. The frequency weighting and limited frequency-intervals-based model order reduction techniques presented by Enns's and Wang & Zilouchian produce an unstable reduced-order model at certain frequency weights and frequency intervals, respectively. To overcome this main drawback, many researchers provided a solution to preserve the stability of the reduced-order model. However, these existing approaches also produce an unstable reduced-order model in some conditions and produce a large variation to the original system; consequently, they provide a large approximation error. The proposed approach not only ensures the stability of the reduced-order model but also provides low approximation error as compared with other existing approaches and also provides an easily calculable a priori error bound formula. The proposed work produces steady and precise outcomes in contrast to conventional reduction methods, which shows the efficacy of the proposed algorithm.

For controller design, the longitudinal dynamics of the mini UAV are decomposed into its phugoid mode and short period mode approximations. The controller design is based on the linear model however for implementation purpose nonlinear model of longitudinal dynamics of the mini UAV is used. The robustness of the controller to disturbances because of model uncertainties and external sources are shown through extensive simulations. The results, especially the transient response shows that this controller outperforms the controller based on conventional integrators.
