We describe some basic properties of copositive tensors and positive semidefinite tensors. Specifically, we show that a non-positive tensor (or Z-tensor) is copositive if and only if it is positive semidefinite. We also describe cone hierarchies that approximate the copositive cone. These hierarchies are based on the sum of squares conditions and the non-negativity of polynomial coefficients. We provide a compact representation for the approximation based on the non-negativity of polynomial coefficients. As an immediate consequence of this representation, we show that the approximation based on the non-negativity of polynomial coefficients is polyhedral. Furthermore, these hierarchies are used to provide approximation results for optimizing a (homogeneous) polynomial over the simplex.

It is confirmed with earthquake events which occurred in various points of Iran. Recent earthquakes which are not few, in addition to making bad memories for people, made people sensitive to their resident places as well as historical places and inevitably prompted to seek prevention methods. On the other hand, historical places are considered as seismic-intolerant textures. After frequent advertisements, this issue worried the people residing in historical -not deteriorated -textures. This worry is sometimes so serious that residents destroy their houses illegally and out of sight of cultural heritage organization and with their low financial power, construct virtually modern houses with low quality. This matter has been another problem in more destruction of historical textures. By evaluation of capabilities hidden in historical textures; this paper attempts to illustrate the capability of historical t...

In the present research, an experimental investigation is carried out to study the existence of copper and aluminum oxide nanoparticles in the base fluid and their impact on the performance of the heat exchanger. A comparison with the theoretical outcome is also conducted. Pure water is pumped through the tubes of the heat exchanger unit whereas the nanofluid is pumped into the shell of the unit by means of another impeller pump. Various volume fractions ranging from 0.26%–0.83% are tested to assess the morphology of nanoparticle and volume fraction on the exchanger efficiency. It is observed that the volume fraction of nanofluid has a significant positive impact on the effectiveness of the heat exchanger. An increase in the volume fraction of the nanofluid enhances the effectiveness of the heat exc...

The ground water samples were collected from fifteen different sampling stations for comprehensive physico–chemical analysis. The following parameters have been considered viz. pH, Alkalinity, Total hardness, Total Dissolved Solids, chloride and turbidity. On comparing the results against the drinking water quality standards, it was found that most of the water quality parameters were within the permissible limits. This study helped in understanding the potential threats to the ground water resources of the city. It was concluded that most water samples are potable for drinking purposes when compared to the standards.

The [email protected] NC was characterised using biophysical techniques. [email protected] immobilised with glucose oxidase (GOx) was achieved by drop-coating glassy carbon electrode surface with Nafion (Nf) as preservative membrane. EIS, amperometric response and cyclic voltammetry were used to determine electrochemical properties of the biosensor. The Nf/GOx/[email protected]/GCE biosensor had sensitivity of 18.25 μA mM−1 cm−2 and linear range of 0.05-18 mM (R2 = 0.997) with detection limit of 36 μM (S/N = 3). The response time over a period of 60 days depicted the biosensor to be quite stable. The potential of the bioelectrode in assessment of human blood glucose concentrations was compared with commercially available glucose sensors. The sensitivity and stability infer the biosensor is capable of functioning specifically in analysis of glucose in physiological fluids.

Since it is nonlinear, for simplicity the model is relaxed by using Lagrangian relaxation technique along with the use of Karush-Kuhn-Tucker theorem to obtain an optimal solution. To counter the nonlinearity, Newton Raphson method is applied as a solution technique. For case study, IESCO 8 bus system is implemented on the developed model and the previous models. Numerical results showed that our model has optimal results in comparison with other models.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of strength training on plasma anti-inflammatory cytokines and their relationships with testosterone and cortisol hormone and body composition in young men. Nineteen sedentary men (age, 20-30 yr), volunteers and participant in the study were randomly divided into two groups, strength training (n=10) and control (n=9) group. Blood samples were collected before and after 10 weeks from intervention, and the concentrations of plasma IL4, IL-10 and testosterone were measured. Ten weeks strength training programme consisted of 7 exercises in two sets with 8 repetitions at 70% of 1-RM in each exercise, and this was then progressively changed to three sets with 8 repetitions at 80% of 1-RM in weeks 10. Dependent and independent t test, indicated that strength training increased upper and lower body streng...

The hyper-realistic imagery of these manipulated videos coupled with the expedited delivery models of social media platforms gives deception, propaganda, and disinformation an entirely new meaning. Hence, raising awareness about DeepFakes and how to accurately flag them has become imperative. However, given differences in human cognition and perception, this is not straightforward. In this paper, we perform an investigative user study and also analyze existing AI detection algorithms from the literature to demystify the unknowns that are at play behind the scenes when detecting DeepFakes. Based on our findings, we design a customized training program to improve detection and evaluate on a treatment group of low-literate population, which is most vulnerable to DeepFakes. Our results suggest that, while DeepFakes are becoming imperceptible, contextualized education and training can help raise awareness and improve detection.

We discuss the convergence properties of the so-called replicator dynamics for solving P. We further examine an ascent method, which also makes use of the replicator transformation. Numerical experiments with polynomials of different degrees illustrate the theoretical convergence results.

The proposed ECD system is based on residual network (i.e., deep learning model) which returns a probability to indicate the explicitness in media content. The value is further compared with a defined threshold to decide whether the content is explicit or nonexplicit. The proposed system not only differentiates between explicit/nonexplicit contents but also indicates the degree of explicitness in any media content, i.e., high, medium, or low. In addition, the system also identifies the media files with tampered extension and label them as suspicious. The experimental result shows that the proposed model provides an accuracy of ~ 95% when tested on our image and video datasets.

The use of biological components as reducing agents has led to emergence of environment-friendly and cost-effective approaches of synthesis. The primary aim was synthesizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) mediated by enzyme β galactosidase. The surface plasmon resonance peaks of AgNPs were screened using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy against varying time of synthesis and concentration of enzyme. The mean dimension was 12.89 ± 0.16 nm as determined by the transmission electron microscopy and selected area electron diffraction patterns. The obtained NPs were fine spherical and quasi-spherical assemblages as revealed by the scanning electron microscopy studies. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed that β galactosidase contributed to the reduction and stabilization of the silver nanoparticles. The crystallinity and presence of elemental silver was...

Present work provides detailed computational study of cancer model by counterbalancing its sensitive dependency on initial conditions and parameter values. Cancer chaotic model is discretized into a system of nonlinear equations that are solved using the well-known Successive-Over-Relaxation (SOR) method with a proven convergence. This technique enables to solve large systems and provides more accurate approximation which is illustrated through tables, time history maps and phase portraits with detailed analysis.
