The purpose of this study is to find out the PKn learning activities taught with the Teams Games ... more The purpose of this study is to find out the PKn learning activities taught with the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Learning Model in Students of Class IVa UPT SDN 24 Pinrang, know the results of PKn learning taught with the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Learning Model, and know the difference in TKn learning outcomes taught. This research method is a class action research, which in the process follows a cycle consisting of two kihlus, namely cycle I and cycle II for each cycle following the steps of four stages that are commonly used starting in planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were teachers and students of class IVa as many as 20 students consisting of 9 male students and 11 female students. The data analysis techniques used consist of 1) learning outcomes data, and 2) the learning process. The result of this study is that the average score of students' first-aid learning outcomes increased in cycle I by 70.92% to 79.57% in cycle II. The percentage of students who complete learning increases in cycle I by 60% to 85% in cycle II, so classical completion has been achieved. Based on these results, the study concluded that PKn learning outcomes can be improved through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Learning Model in Class IVa UPT SDN 24 Pinrang Regency Pinrang.

Nowadays, English Medium Instruction (EMI) was used in many education levels. Although L2 learner... more Nowadays, English Medium Instruction (EMI) was used in many education levels. Although L2 learners study English since primary education, some of them still cannot communicate and write well in English. It is probably caused by lack of self-esteem, motivation, comprehensible input, and interaction. This study aimed to investigate the use of English medium instruction on EFL students at tertiary education level. This study employed a quantitative method. The participants of this study were 45 undergraduate students at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. A survey questionnaire regarding the use of English medium instruction with a five points likert scale is assigned to obtain the data. The result of this study revealed that there are some subjects that use English as medium of instruction. Furthermore, the students stated that they got exposure in English in several ways such as read textbook, watch YouTube, and write power point in English. The results also showed that the students' English ability significantly improve regarding the use of English as medium of instruction.

This study focuses on reading log and students’ interest in literacy. Reading log, it is hoped that students will be able to become a tool to control reading as well as a tool to measure students' interest in literacy. To obtain the research objectives, the researcher implemented quantitative research with one shot case study deign. The research was conducted Pondok Pesantren Zubdatul Asrar Parepare. The instruments in this study are reading log and questionnaires about students’ interest in literacy. Based on the analysis, by implementing the reading log, the results are as follow: 1) students can know exactly what they read, 2) reading became enjoyment and meaningful, 3) students are able to think critically, 4) the students are in time to complete their task in reading log.
This study investigates the students' affective factors in learning to speak through integrated c... more This study investigates the students' affective factors in learning to speak through integrated communicative activities. Communicative activities aim to develop students' ability to use language to interact with people in real situations. Practising communicative activities can certainly help students to develop their language abilities. Integrated communicative activities are assumed to be the best way to empower the students' affective factors. Communicative activities are needed to help students to boost the students' anxiety, motivation and self-confidence in learning to speak. The participants were students in the fourth semester of the English Education Department of State Islamic Institute Parepare. The quantitative research was conducted by using a random sampling technique. In-depth analysis showed three results, 1) the students believed they desired to speak in front of the class. They were not afraid and shy when their friend laughed or the teacher correction at them; 2) the students were enthusiastic and spirit about learning as a good opportunity in the future; 3) the students also had confidence that they have intelligence and communication ability. The study's results suggested that integrated communicative activities should be implemented in the class to empower the students' affective factors.
