It categorizes natural capital into renewable natural capital and structural natural capital, and argues for exclusion of nonrenewable natural capital (such as coal and oil) from consideration as a natural capital. It presents 10 guiding principles for sustainable use of natural capital. Both tasks of reconceptualizing natural capital and identifying guiding principles for sustainable use of natural capital are inspired by Aldo Leopold’s land ethic.

Engineering-geological researches for the construction of any object obligatory therefore are always relevant. Formulation of the problem. The distribution, thickness and lithology of Quaternary sediments on the territory of Chernihiv often change by area in the incision (on depth), what is dangerous in the construction of various buildings or structures. To provide the fastness of constructed objects, it is necessary to study in detail the geological conditions of construction before the start of the construction. Analysis of recent researches and publications. Publications that relate to the topic of the article are missing. Emphasizing of previously unexplored parts of a common problem. A common complex problem that is not sufficiently solved for the territory of Chernihiv, Chernihiv region is the distribution, thickness and lithology of the Quaternary sediments. Statement of a task. Detailed researches of the geological structure of the site in microdistr...

In this work, a novel covalent organic polymer (COP)-based photocatalyst with trace ending groups was prepared by the efficent irreversible kinetic coupling reaction, i.e., nickel(0)-catalyzed Yamamoto-type Ullmann cross-coupling, using pyrene as electron donor and countpart, e.g., phenanthrolene, benzene, pyrazine, as electron acceptor. The newly developed optimal photocatalyst

In this work, we reported the fabrication of a series of multicomponent solid acid catalysts based on heteropolyacids immobilized ILs-modified organosilica hollow nanospheres (denoted as PW12-ILs-Cn-HNS), in which PW12 (PW12 = H3PW12O40•xH2O) provides Brönsted acid site, ILs show strong electrostatic interactions with PW12, Cn (Cn = alkyl chain) is attached for hydrophobicity and HNS represents organosilica hollow nanospheres. When applied for catalytic dehydration of fructose to 5-HMF, the PW12-ILs-C4-HNS catalyst with 15.2% PW12 loading exhibited the best dehydration activity to 5-HMF with 93.7 % yield in DMSO at 100 o C in 2 h. Compared with 2D hexagonal and 3D interconnected structures, the excellent porosity properties of hollow nanospherical structure can provide a high population of the PW12 sites and enough confined nanospace for the dehydration of fructose. Moreover, the PW12-ILs-Cn-HNS catalyst showed excellent stability over six catalytic cycles without obvious loss of activity. Most importantly, careful identification of the observed intermediates revealed crucial information for the dehydration process of fructose to 5-HMF. As such, the proposed heterogeneous catalysts show great potential in biomass conversion processes.

However, the poor mass transfer between the active components of the intercalated catalysts and organic substrates is one of the challenges that limit their further application. Herein, we fabricate a novel heterogeneous catalyst by intercalating the polyoxometalate (POM) of Na9LaW10O36·32H2O (LaW10) into layered double hydroxides (LDHs), which has been covalently anchored by ionic liquids (ILs). The intercalation catalyst demonstrates high activity and selectivity for epoxidation of various allylic alcohols in the presence of H2O2. Taking trans-2-hexen-1-ol as an example, it shows up to 96 % conversion and 99 % epoxide selectivity at 25 oC in 2.5 h. To the best of our knowledge, the Mg3Al-ILs-C8-LaW10 composite material constitutes one of the most efficient heterogeneous catalysts for epoxidation of allylic ...
