This research aims to describe the effect of satisfaction with salary and satisfaction with super... more This research aims to describe the effect of satisfaction with salary and satisfaction with supervisors on work motivation among employees with organizational climate as moderating variable. This study involved 399 employees of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan. Data were collected by using the scale of satisfaction with salary, scale of satisfaction with supervisors, scale of organizational climate and the scale of work motivation. A partial least square path modelling was used in this study with WarpPLS 7 application. The results showed that satisfaction with salary (β=0.151, p=0.001; p<0.05), satisfaction with supervisors (β=0.126, p=0.005; p<0.05) and organizational climate (β=0.494, p=0.001; p<0.05) directly could increase the work motivation of employees significantly, but organizational climate could not moderated the effect of satisfaction with salary (β=0.020, p=0.348; p>0.05) and satisfaction with supervisors (β=0.073, p=0.072; p>0.05) on work motivation. Implications of this study that management were expected to increase employees’ work motivation through improving the factors which influence satisfaction with salary, satisfaction with supervisors and organizational climate.

Such situation could affect the emloyees since organization also increase their demand in terms of long working hours, high workload, high quality standard, and lack of job security. Facing this challenges some employees might feel less satisfied and tend to come out with quick response to leave the organization. This paper aims to explore the turnover intention in constrcution industry. A questionnaire is used to collect data from 110 employees. The results reveal that most respondents perceived good support from organization and fel satisfy. While they have low intention to leave. The perceived organizational support positively affect turnover intention and job satisfaction mediated the relation. This study using small sample size which means any generalisations should be done carefully. Meanwhile, the cross-sectional approach only highlight the existence of relationships between variables but it didnot discuss their exact nature.

Penelitian dilaksanakan terhadap mahasiswa dari dua universitas di kota Medan,Sumatera Utara (Universitas Sumatera Utara dan Universitas Medan Area). Kedua universitas dipilihdengan pertimbangan bahwa keduanya banyak menitik-beratkan proses pembelajaran melalui metodepembelajaran kooperatif di berbagai mata kuliah. Hasil penelitian mengkonfirmasi dua dari tiga hipotesisyang diajukan. Pertama, SLT yang tinggi berasosiasi dengan prestasi akademik yang rendah (Hipotesis 1).Kedua, perempuan cenderung memiliki prestasi akademik yang lebih tinggi daripada laki-laki (Hipotesis2). Namun, analisis mediasional tidak menunjukkan dukungan terhadap dugaan bahwa SLT bertindaksebagai mediator antara hubungan jender dengan prestasi akademik (Hipotesis 3). In the present research, we examined the effect of gender and social loafing tendency (SLT) on students‟academic achievement, in the context of cooperative learning. We conducted the research on students from two university in Medan, North Sumatera (University of Sumatera Utara and Medan Area University). The two universities were chosen on the basis that the two relies heavily on the cooperative learning approach as teaching instruction on many study subjects. The results of the study confirms two of the three proposed hypotheses. First, SLT is associated with low academic achievement (Hypothesis 1). Second, female students tended to have better academic achievement than male students (Hypothesis 2). However,mediation analysis did not support the idea that SLT mediates the relationship of gender and academic achievement (Hypothesis 3). Discussions describes some ways of reducing social loafing behavior, specifically among male students.

This study involved 165 employees of the Directorate General of State Assets Management (DJKN) of North Sumatera. The measuring instruments used in this study are the scale of readiness for change. The results show that most employees have a high level of readiness for change. The meaning is, most employees are classified as ready to make organizational changes. This research can be a reference for the organization in implementing organizational changes, especially for Institutional Transformation currently being held by the organization.

T... more This study was to determine the employee engagement to employees of plantation company in PT X. This study involved 163 employees of the PT X plantation companies. The measuring instruments used in this study is Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) which was developed based on the theory of Schaufeli & Bakker (2003). The results show that most employees have a medium level of employee engagement. The meaning is, most employees are considered not too engaged to their company and can leave the company at any time when conditions are not favorable. The results of the study are expected to be an input for PT X plantation companies to enhance the social interaction and togetherness that exists in the director's office through activities such as gatherings.

Dextonindo Persada. Transformational leadership has a positive effect on the level of engagement. Subjects in this study were 120 people who were staff level employees at PT. Dextonindo Persada. This research uses quantitative methods with measuring tools as many as two scales, namely the scale of employee engagement and, transformational leadership. The results showed that transformational leadership has influence on employee engagement. The results of the study are expected to be an input for the company to increase the interaction between employees and supervisors that can increase the employee engagement level.

The method used in this research is a quantitative method, with psychological scale as measuring instrument. The measurement of work family conflict variables used Greenhaus & Beutell's theory and organizational commitment used Mowday, Steers & Porter's theory. The sampling technique in this study using the snowball technique. The number of samples used were 147 people. Data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the research, it was found that work family conflict had a positive effect on organizational commitment, giving an effect of 3.2% on organizational commitment. Based on the results of the categorization, the average employee who works in a bank in the Medan city has work family conflict at the middle level, and quite good organizational commitment.
