been the tomography imaging technology, responsible for planning virtual positioning of
implants associated with the CAD / CAM system that allows the construction of a prototyped
guide, responsible for the transfer of planning the virtual surgical environment. This process is
known as guided surgery. Based on the expected importance of this technique and the
evolution that is still to come, the concepts used in it, this paper will seek to clarify, through
the literature review important points as the precision guided surgery, the possibility to build a
suitable prosthesis prior to cirurgia beyond their advantages and disadvantages

Intra buccal and extra buccal methods of accomplishing that anchorage control exist although they are not always efficient and, in some particular situations, they depend on the patients' collaboration. The use of implant as part of the anchorage system has been considered promising due to the fact they didn't move when submitted to orthodontic force. The objective of the present work was to do a review of the literature trying to check: a) the efficiency of the use of implants as anchorage; b) the location of these implants; c) the needed time to applicate force after the installation of the implant and d) the advantages of the use of implants as anchorage. The conclusion was that implants were efficient when used as a part of anchorage system; they can be installed in several places in the maxila and jaw such as palatal area, alveolar process, infrazygomatic ridge, retromolar region and others according to the need; immediate load is possible in the case of temporary implants since they light forces are applied. There are lot of advantages in this use. We could stand out the fact that the patient's collaboration is not needed and the results achieved were exceptional when compared to the traditional methods of anchorage.
