We focus attention mainly on solutions where defects may nest defects. When space is non-compact we find topological BPS and non-BPS solutions that present internal structure. When space is compact the solutions are nontopological sphalerons, which may be nested inside the topological defects. We address the question of classical stability of these topological and nontopological solutions and investigate how the thermal corrections may modify the classical scenario.

We have found acoustic metrics that are conformally related to the Reissner-Nordström and Kerr-Newman metrics. The universal aspects of area products which depend only on quantized quantities such as conserved electric charge and angular momentum are also addressed. We relate these areas with entanglement entropy of acoustic black holes in BEC systems. We also have shown there is an equivalence between microscopic descriptions of axisymmetric acoustic black hole entropy in a BEC system in four and two dimensions. Particularly, the system seems to develop an analogue of the Kerr/CFT correspondence.

The flagships of the Brazilian dark matter program are the Cherenkov Telescope Array, DARKSIDE, SBN and LHC experiments, but we emphasize that smaller experiments such as DAMIC and CONNIE constitute important probes to dark sectors as well and should receive special attention. Small experimental projects showing the potential to probe new regions of parameter space of dark matter models are encouraged. On the theoretical and phenomenological side, some groups are devoted to astrophysical aspects such as the dark matter density profile while others explore the signature of dark matter models at colliders, direct and indirect detection experiments. In summary, the Brazilian dark matter community that was born not long ago ...

We explicitly find smooth solutions in the cases when the transverse space is a manifold of Spin(7) holonomy and SU(4) holonomy. We comment on the consequences of these results for the holographically related three-dimensional theories living on the world volume of a stack of such resolved M2-branes.
