En este trabajo, se analiza el comportamiento de un Entorno Virtual de Aprendizaje (EVA), específ... more En este trabajo, se analiza el comportamiento de un Entorno Virtual de Aprendizaje (EVA), específicamente en lo relacionado a su rendimiento, a través de los procesos de gestión del almacenamiento de estas plataformas. Para comprender e interpretar el comportamiento de un EVA, se usa una metodología basada en la Analítica de Datos (AD), la cual soporta los procesos de toma de decisiones para resolver los problemas de rendimiento debido al almacenamiento. Para ello, se especifican ciclos autonómicos de tareas de análisis de datos para los subprocesos del EVA relacionados con la carga de datos y descarga de archivos, con el fin de mejorar el rendimiento de los medios de almacenamiento del EVA. En particular, durante este trabajo se usa como caso de estudio a la plataforma de e-Learning Moodle.

This article introduces a theoretical model of a storage management system for big data-based vir... more This article introduces a theoretical model of a storage management system for big data-based virtual learning environments. The system uses artificial intelligence technologies such as machine learning and deep learning to explore strategies for optimizing how stored data is processed. To this end, the storage management requirements currently presented by these platforms, as well as big data techniques and tools, and their applications on those platforms were investigated. This model is designed to be distributed, scalable, fast, and fault tolerant. In addition, it is expected to work with any web application that needs to improve file downloads.

Considerando los sistemas lineales invariantes en el tiempo (LTI) continuos con incertidumbres po... more Considerando los sistemas lineales invariantes en el tiempo (LTI) continuos con incertidumbres politópicas, esta contribución presenta un método para la síntesis de controladores por realimentación estática extendida de la salida medida. El método consiste en el diseño de ganancias de realimentación para la inyección de la salida y su derivada que corresponde a la señal de control. Se establecen condiciones para la existencia de este tipo de control. Los parámetros inciertos se suponen que pertenecen a un politopo. El problema de estabilización es formulado en el contexto de Desigualdades Matriciales Lineales (LMI). Índices de desempeño multiobjetivos en H2/H&, son también considerados, los cuales se describen como LMIs. Las condiciones de desempeño H2/H& extendidas se obtienen por medio del lema de proyección. El funcionamiento de la técnica propuesta es ilustrada por medio de un ejemplo numérico.

In this hierarchy, each level is characterized by a group of different tasks to be carried out within the control system and by using and generating different information. In this ar- ticle, a reference model for the development of Intelligent Distributed Control Systems based on Agents (IDCSA) inspired by this hierarchical architecture is presented. The agents of this model are classified in two categories: control agents and service management environment agents. To define these agents we have used an extension of the MAS-Common KADS methodology for Multi- Agent Systems (MAS).

Starting from the functional requirements of a process automa-tion system, a hierarchical automation architecture is formulated in order to down intelligence to inferior levels. This advantage is possible grace to multi-agent systems, which allow the implementation of interoperativity, heterogeneity and complexity due to the requirements of industrial automation. The architecture is composed by a superior layer, and a middleware layer. The superior layer is constituted by two multi-agent systems, which are based on the control and automation functionalities. The middleware layer is designed in order to support superior layer activities and manages the communications from/to field devices. First, the general platform supporting the whole multi-agent system for control and supervision is defined. From there, applica-tions are conceived like specialized multi-agent systems to coordinate, execute and evaluate control and supervision tasks needed for the distributed information processing and decision-making. The production units in industrial environments are also modeled as multi-agent systems implementing the logical and functional abstraction of the real processes. In this way, cooperation and negotiation for improving the production performance are achieved through the adequate interaction between the agents community.

In this paper we present the design and implementation of a format for volumetric data storage, a... more In this paper we present the design and implementation of a format for volumetric data storage, along with the corresponding resolution algorithms of requests. This format allows the implantation of rendering algorithms with capacities to respond fast and efficiently to navigation requests with arbitrary trajectories. The proposal is based on grouping of voxel data in blocks (clusters) which match with the disk blocks size. Beside, we propose a multilayer model and develop a library that allows the usage of our format. The proposed model can be used in the visualization of huge volumetric data and its usefulness can be improved to support navigation based on data properties. To evaluate our proposal, we developed a visualization application which tests stability and performance of the implemented library and shows like using it.

This work has as main goal, the development of a system that would allow the creation of control ... more This work has as main goal, the development of a system that would allow the creation of control agents for the SCDIA, this includes the creation of an agent's source code, its compilation and incorporation to the SCDIA. The SCDIA is a reference model for the development of Intelligent Distributed Control Systems based on Agents. The SCDIA has a Control Agents community consisting in 5 agents that resemble the elements of a closed Control Loop, these agents are: Coordinator Agent, Controller Agent, Measurement Agent, Acting Agent and Specialized Agent. Agent development Platform JADE was used for developing this System. The Platform follows the FIPA standards for multi-agent systems. The system has 3 main agents: Central Agent, Code Generator Agent and Behavior Agent. These Agents communicate with each other to generate the control agents of the SCDIA, through the use of a code generation ontology.

In this paper, we present a mechanism able to predict the performance a given workload will achie... more In this paper, we present a mechanism able to predict the performance a given workload will achieve when running on a given storage device. This mechanism is composed by two modules. The first one is able to learn the behavior of a workload in order to be able to reproduce its behavior later on, without a new execution, even when the storage drives or data placement are modified. The second module is a drive modeler that is able to learn how a storage drive works in an automatic way, just executing some synthetic tests. Once we have the workload and drive models, we can predict how well the application will perform on the selected storage device or devices or when the data placement is modified. The results presented in this paper will show that this prediction system achieves errors below 10% when compared to the real performance obtained. The major inconvenient for the fault detection and isolation (FDI) in technical processes based o... more The major inconvenient for the fault detection and isolation (FDI) in technical processes based on analytical redundancy is the requirement of a very accurate model of the system. By contrary, in the methods based on data handling it is not required of a precise model, since they are based on the manipulation of the information by means of the measured data. Thus, in this work a set of statistical indices allowing quantifying the amount of information contained in the collected data is presented, in order to realize the FDI. These indices are used for the reconstruction of the fault patterns, and next for its classification is used the machine learning technique, in particular the support vector machines (SVM). For verification of the results, generated data by two nonlinear models are used; one of discreet time that simulates the Logistic Application, which is used under different types of dynamic states behavior that represent the occurrence of faults. MASINA is based on MAS-CommonKADS; we use the models presented in this methodology to propose some extensions, modifications and substitutions allowing to describe the intelligent characteristics of an agent or group of agents, to use intelligent techniques for the accomplishment of tasks (e.g. artificial neural networks), and to specify emergent coordination approaches, among others.
En este articulo se presenta la caracterizacion de los registros de emergencias de INPRADEM utili... more En este articulo se presenta la caracterizacion de los registros de emergencias de INPRADEM utilizando mineria de datos. Se uso la metodologia CRISP-DM, haciendo enfasis en: emergencias suscitadas en el estado Merida, colisiones por horas, semanas con mayor cantidad de emergencias y eventos en periodos vacacionales. Los resultados aportan informacion relevante relacionada a los equipos mas usados, distribucion de colisiones por horas, emergencias que requieren o no equipos, comportamientos en periodos vacacionales y dias de la semana con mayor numero de eventos. INPRADEM cuenta con una nueva forma de ver sus datos, prometiendo beneficios a la solucion de una gran variedad de problemas como: planeacion economica, distribucion de trabajo y equipo, analisis de servicio y prevencion en epocas de demanda alta.

Se uso la metodologia CRISP-DM, haciendo enfasis en: emergencias suscitadas en el estado Merida, colisiones por horas, semanas con mayor cantidad de emergencias y eventos en periodos vacacionales. Los resultados aportan informacion relevante relacionada a los equipos mas usados, distribucion de colisiones por horas, emergencias que requieren o no equipos, comportamientos en periodos vacacionales y dias de la semana con mayor numero de eventos. INPRADEM cuenta con una nueva forma de ver sus datos, prometiendo beneficios a la solucion de una gran variedad de problemas como: planeacion economica, distribucion de trabajo y equipo, analisis de servicio y prevencion en epocas de demanda alta.
