To identify the levels of Burnout and anxiety in the COVID-19 context and determine how these levels are manifested in the participating teachers. Methods: This was an analytical non-experimental, cross-sectional study. The population was 150 teachers of the Human Medicine Program of the University of San Martín de Porres, Chiclayo, Peru, and the sample was 66 teachers. The survey consisted of three sections: 1. Informed consent, 2. Maslach's Burnout Inventory, 3. Beck's Anxiety Inventory. Data processing was performed using the SPSS V.27 statistical software and all citations and bibliographical references were processed using Mendeley Desktop 1.19.8. Results: In the variable burnout syndrome, 25% of the participants were in the high ...

Data processing was performed using the SPSS V.27 statistical software and all citations and bibliographical references were processed using Mendeley Desktop 1.19.8. Results: In the variable burnout syndrome, 25% of the participants were in the high level downwards; they present anxiety in 30.30% of the total. It was found that 50% of teachers presented mild to moderate anxiety. Conclusions: the largest number of teachers surveyed present anxiety due to burnout syndrome in the COVID-19 context. Finally, it is found that there is a correlation between anxiety and the sociodemographic variables sex, age, and marital status.

Consequently, the participation of the dental surgeon in the evaluation of the stomatognathic system using a multidisciplinary approach model is very important. Objective: To identify the craniofacial and neurological manifestations of the Guillain-Barré Syndrome in patients from three hospitals in the district of Lambayeque, Peru, in 2019. Material and Methods: A descriptive, prospective, and cross-sectional study was carried out in 59 patients diagnosed with GBS by means of a clinical evaluation carried out by previously calibrated neurologists (k=0.911). Additionally, an oral evaluation of the oral hygiene index, the periodontal status, and the oral pH was carried out. Data were processed using frequency distribution tables. Results: 44.07% of the patients presented at least one functional alteration, such as unilateral limitation for facial expr...

Objective: To evaluate the conditions of edentulism and frailty in a group of elderly people treated at the dental clinic of Universidad San Martín de Porres in Lambayeque, Peru, between the years 2016 and 2018. Material and Methods: An observational, descriptive, retrolective, and cross-sectional study was conducted. Two hundred and seven medical records that included an odontogram were randomly selected to identify cases of total or partial edentulism according to the Kennedy classification. The files were assessed with Fried’s test to evaluate the conditions of frailty. The association between variables was estimated by means of a significance analysis using the Chi square test. Results: There was a statistically significant difference between edentulism in both jaws and conditions of frailty (p<0.05). An association of edentu...

Material and Methods: An observational, descriptive, retrolective, and cross-sectional study was conducted. The files were assessed with Fried's test to evaluate the conditions of frailty. The association between variables was estimated by means of a significance analysis using the Chi square test. Results: There was a statistically significant difference between edentulism in both jaws and conditions of frailty (p<0.05). An association of edentulism with physical inactivity and weakness was also demonstrated. Additionally, a statistically significant difference between degrees of edentulism was observed regarding poor diet (p<0.05). Conclusion: The absence of teeth in the elderly acts as a risk factor leading to negative changes in diet, weight, and physical activity. These changes may be associated with frailty, as masticatory insufficiency results in a poor diet and subsequent weakness.

The study found that floristic biodiversity in the River Chancay-Lambayeque watershed corresponds to a total of 113 species, comprised in 104 genera and 53 families. Of which 5 tree species, 2 shrubs and 1 herbaceous are threatened. Regarding wildlife, 37 species have been registered, of which 6 are threatened. The study shows that the GEO methodology for diagnosing threatened species in urban areas could be used in non-urban areas. By other hand, eight species of flora and six of threatened fauna were found in the Chancay - Lambayeque Valley.
