Using the EFG, an old β-NQR spectrum of 41Sc was reanalyzed to obtain eqQ(41Sc)/h which was combined with the renewed Q(45Sc) = -(23.6 ± 0.2) fm2 to obtain eq Q(41Sc; Iπ = 7/2-, T1/2 = 0.596 s) | = (15.6 ± 0.3) fm2. Also the atomic EFG in Ca was recalculated, using a finite-element multi configuration Hartree-Fock method to renew Q(43Ca). Finally using the known hyperfine constants of 41Ca, the Q(41Ca) value has been renewed.

The obtained magnetic moment j j = 0.7549(3) N is consistent w i t h the old value 0.7523(16) N , but is 5 times more accurate. The value is well reproduced by the shell model calculation, S M = 0.70 N . Combined with the magnetic moment o f the mirror partner 33 S, the nuclear matrix elements hl p i, hl n i, hS p i, and hS n i were derived. For the creation of the alignment, the spin manipulation technique was applied, which utilized the nuclear quadrupole interactions. The -parity violating induced tensor coefficient was determined to be 2 = 0 15 0 12 0 05 (theor.), which is consistent with the theoretical prediction based on QCD in which 2 is proportional to the mass difference between up and down quarks which constitute the nucleon. Also determined the axial charge to be = 4 90 0 10 (90% CL). From the result, we have found that the nucleon mass inside the nucleus is reduced (16 4)% relative to the free nucleon mass.

In the extraction of the result, the refined empirical value of the weak magnetism a = (4.04±0.03)/2M and the theoretical calculation of the charge asymmetry in the axial charge Δy = 0.10 ± 0.05(theory) were used.

The γ-ray energy and the half-life are 164.4 ± 0.1 keV and 120 ± 9 ns, respectively. For the isomeric transition of the mirror nucleus 26Na, the γ-ray energy of 82.40 ± 0.04 keV and the half-life of 4.35 ± 0.16 μs are also revised. Comparing the experimental reduced transition probabilities of 26Na and 26P with theoretical ones calculated by the shell model with the USDA interaction, the spin-parity (Jπ) of the isomeric state in 26P is most likely to be 1+.

Differential cross sections of the one-neutron transfer reactions populating the ground states and several low-lying excited states in 15 O were measured. Comparing the ratios of the cross sections for each excited state to the one for the ground state over a wide range of momentum transfer, we found a marked enhancement for the positive-parity state(s). The observation indicates large components of high-momentum neutrons in the initial ground-state configurations, due possibly to the tensor interactions.

Dividing the cross sections for each excited state by the one for the ground state and comparing the ratios over a wide range of momentum transfer, we found a marked enhancement of the ratio for the positive-parity state(s). The observation is consistent with large components of high-momentum neutrons in the ground-state configurations of 16O due possibly to the tensor interactions.

The obtained spectra in the hypernuclear bound region were compared with a DWIA calculation and those in the quasifree region with a Fermi gas model. It has been shown that these calculations give a good account of the general characteristics of the (z+.K+) reaction.

The longitudinal momentum distributions of {sup 15,16}C fragments from {sup 17}C and {sup 16,17}C fragments from {sup 18}C were measured by a direct time-of-flight method. The width of {sup 15}C fragments from {sup 17}C is fairly smaller than that from other C isotopes. The experimental data are discussed within the framework of the Glauber model.

ABSTRACT Precise reaction cross sections (σR) for 24−38Mg on C targets at energies around 240 MeV... more ABSTRACT Precise reaction cross sections (σR) for 24−38Mg on C targets at energies around 240 MeV/nucleon have been measured at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory at RIKEN. The σR for 36−38Mg have been measured for the first time. An enhancement of σR compared to the systematics for spherical stable nuclei has been observed, especially in the neutron-rich region, which reflects the deformation of those isotopes. In the vicinity of the drip line the σR for 37Mg is especially large. It is shown by analysis using a recently developed theoretical method that this prominent enhancement of σR for 37Mg should come from the p-orbital halo formation breaking the N = 28 shell gap.

A more reliable result on the induced tensor term was obtained as -0.31 ≤ 2M fT/fA ≤ 0.02 at a 90% confidence level, This result is consistent with the theoretical prediction in the framework of which the form factor is proportional to the mass difference between the up and down quarks. The axial charge of the axial vector current was determined to be y = 4.9 ± 0.10, which may disclose an in-medium mass reduction of the decaying nucleon of (16 ± 4)% at a 90% confidence level.
