In the present paper, Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) is used to prioritise the criteria of sustainable development based on regularly published indicators. In line with most approaches in the literature, the main criteria are Economy, Society and Environment. Complex criteria are decomposed into subcriteria until the performance with respect to them can be measured directly. Weights of importance are calculated by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), in decision support system PriEsT. The model is flexible to both the modification of criteria and re-weighting, and the PriEsT file is supplemented to the paper. Moreover, the results can also be applied in decisions on resource allocation. The proposed methodology has the potential of resulting in a new composite index to measure, compare or rank cou...

The paper tackles some of the industrial economic thinking trends which were meant to fill the gaps left by the traditional approaches. Two approaches stand out from among the industrial economic trends: SCP paradigm and game theory. The results show that the strategy tourism operators prefer is to practise high prices; however there is no certainty that the competitors would adhere to such an idea at the beginning or during the season.

Public surveys, the principles of urbanization and environmental balance are presented with generally-recognized and data-supported local trends. Moreover, these are analysed and compared with other large metropolitan areas in Europe. The development of a central business district surrounded by metropolitan areas encourages a population flow both outward and inward from the centre for residential, work-related, shopping and cultural/leisure/sport activities. The tendency is for the more highly educated to move and travel inwards to take advantage of the shopping, cultural and sport facilities, and work opportunities. Consequently, families separate and this generates more travelling for visiting purposes, with the need for upgraded transportation services. The paper concludes with the findings of what is required for successfully engineering a sustainable transformation.

This helps cities to accomplish many objectives (attracting new national or international companies, consolidate industrial infrastructure, developing tourism, diversifying and improving transport and health services), while they have to maintain a certain level or to cut off public expenses, and to face the harsh competition to attract new investors. The biggest challenges for urban marketing are changes occurred in market structure and dynamics, which exceed the response capacity of the cities. The sole existence of a developed industrial infrastructure is not sufficient for a community to reach the development goals, marketing must create the image, the message to be conveyed to potential investors. Urban strategic marketing is the most adaptable and productive approach of the problems that the communities face. Urban marketing became an extremely important economic activity and, in some cases, the main source of local welfare. Inside clients-oriented marketing is not only a technical problem, of marketing technique, messages and targets, but also one defining the city development in terms of value system of the public.

Psychology clearly has a valuable impact on marketing and can have the same effect on understanding entrepreneurial behaviors. Likewise, entrepreneurship can provide an applied test for many psychological and marketing theories, such as in the study of small group behaviors, new product introduction and attention retaining. The unique perspective that entrepreneurship provides is that of highly unstable and unstructured groups in rapidly changing markets whose development is also hard to predict or model in exact numbers. This dynamic environment is an excellent counterpoint to the static and artificial conditions all too frequently encountered in traditional psychological and market research.
