Research paper thumbnail of Ahimsa and Himsa Fabrications of Mind Seeking Power: The World is Consciously Violent

DU Students' Philosophy Journal, 2011

It is argued that the world is violent per se in so far as any act is conscious. This makes ‘An anarchist perspective of peaceful co-termination’ inherently violent without resorting to the standard objection anticipated by the marginal philosophical group with the particular belief system.
A parallel is drawn between the contentions of such a non violent anarchist with presuppositions of Buddhist philosophy resorting to the French Feminist Irigaray’s psychoanalytic arguments. Certain charges are raised against the anarchist, at the same time dealing with the maze of counter objections. Formulation of this article is based on the attack of the significant presuppositions which the anarchist professing peaceful co termination takes to be true and which she claims that her article resolves. There is some agreement met at a few fundamental problems addressed in the article. But the response draws a distinction between making a choice and taking a decision for the other or in the behalf of the other, based on the power position to make a mutually exclusive choice.

Before concluding that socialist feminism has been successful in figuring out the problem women face today, several criticisms of socialist feminism are presented like in terms of providing solutions to the problems of women, socialist feminism also lacks significant answers.
