The European Physical Journal D, 2012

We deduce an analytical expression for the Schmidt number as a function of the filter bandwidth in the limit of spectrally narrow pump and consider a possibility of tailoring a Gaussian model for the description of this kind of entanglement.

The diagnostics is based on a high quantum efficiency CCD camera, and in the second case the radiation pattern is recorded after temporal integration of the "single-photon" spatial distribution. Research paper thumbnail of Spatial patterns in optical parametric oscillators with spherical mirrors: classical and quantum effects

Optics express, Jan 20, 1998

Extending previous work, we treat the more realistic case of a spherical mirror cavity with a finite-sized input pump field. Using numerical simulations in real space, we determine the conditions on the cavity geometry, pump size and detunings for which pattern formation occurs; we find multistability of different types of optical patterns. Below threshold, we analyze the dependence of the quantum image on the width of the input field, in the near and in the far field.

Above threshold, we find the presence of perfect photonic correlations in the spatial structure, and we describe a phenomenon that we call «quantum image». We show that these effects are related to the wave and particle

ABSTRACT As in the case of quantum information and communication, in the field of quantum imaging... more ABSTRACT As in the case of quantum information and communication, in the field of quantum imaging entanglement represents an invaluable resource. Processes such as parametric down-conversion (PDC) and four-wave mixing provide natural sources of quantum entangled beams endowed with spatial entanglement properties that are useful in quantum imaging. The authors will review these well known features in the case of PDC, and the technique which allows for an imaging with a sensitivity beyond the standard quantum limit, which has been theoretically predicted and experimentally demonstrated.

The revealed correlation is skewed in space-time in accordance with the X structure predicted by the theory.
