Fundamentos: Realizar una estadística sobre el consumo de drogas antidepresivas y ansiolíticas du... more Fundamentos: Realizar una estadística sobre el consumo de drogas antidepresivas y ansiolíticas durante el año 1998 fin de obtener conclusiones que nos permitan aportar datos para racionalizar el uso. Método: Se obtuvieron los datos de distribución de las dos más grandes droguerías proveedoras de medicamentos de la Región del Nordeste Argentino y de las farmacias elaboradoras de prescripciones magistrales con éstos fármacos. Resultados: Los datos obtenidos fueron los siguientes: cantidad de unidades distribuidas por las droguerías expendedoras: 18.080 de antidepresivos y 177.205 de ansiolíticos y de las oficinas de farmacia magistrales de la zona se obtuvieron la cantidad de recetas preparadas con estas drogas: 4440. Conclusiones: Se evidencia un predominio de la medicación elaborada por la industria farmacéutica sobre los preparados magistrales realizados por las oficinas de farmacia, aunque éstos últimos son utilizados de manera más racional.Background: To make a statistic about co...

If we add the state of confinement due to quarantine, the picture can get even worse. The data were obtained from a region of Argentina and expressed as defined daily doses (DDD). Methods: Descriptive observational study. Data were obtained from drug suppliers that provide medicines to community pharmacies. Finding was statistically analyzed by Chisquare test. the consumption measure is defined in DDD.

The aim of this works is to implement a pharmaceutical care program in psychiatric outpatients. T... more The aim of this works is to implement a pharmaceutical care program in psychiatric outpatients. This is an experimental, longitudinal, parallel and cross over work that was carried during two years. The patients were divided in two groups: group A intervention (with pharmaceutical care) and group B control (without pharmaceutical care). After a year of follow up of the outpatients, the groups were crossed over during another period of 12 month. The drug related problems, habit related problems, unspecified factor which are involved in the treatment, the quality of life and the satisfaction level with the pharmacist services were analyzed in the selected groups. Our results show that the pharmaceutical care program improved the quality of life of the outpatients and the physician-pharmacist relation.

Objective: To evaluate the consumption of psychotropic's in the northeast region of Argentina fro... more Objective: To evaluate the consumption of psychotropic's in the northeast region of Argentina from 1997 to 2000, expressed as defined daily dosis (DDDs). Methods: Data were collected from drug providers that supply the different pharmaceutical specialties, and community pharmacies, which prepare pharmaceutical compoundings, according to the established legal requirements in our country. Results: During this period 36.318.960 DDDs of pharmaceutical specialties were distributed in the following order: 29.357.168 DDDs correspond to anxiolytics and hypnotics; 3.677.099 DDDs to antidepressants and 3.284.693 antipsychotics. On the other hand, 1.219.987 DDDs of pharmaceutical compoundings were prepared: 370.846 DDDs of anxiolytics and hypnotics; 700.824 of antidepressants and 148.314 of antipsychotics. Conclusions: This work shows the importance to evaluate the consumption of psychotropic's in order to contribute significantly to the implementation of rational use of these drugs.

Objetivo: Evaluar y encontrar una explicación del modo de prescripción de psicofármacos en la reg... more Objetivo: Evaluar y encontrar una explicación del modo de prescripción de psicofármacos en la región nordeste Argentina desde 2004 al 2013, expresados como dosis diaria definida (DDDs), comparándolo con otras regiones. Métodos: Los datos se obtuvieron de las droguerías, que proveen las especialidades farmacéuticas. Resultados: Durante este periodo se distribuyeron 3.949.797 DDDs de especialidades farmacéuticas en el siguiente orden: 2.662.953 DDDs correspondieron al grupo de ansiolíticos; 915.956 DDDs de antidepresivos y 370.888 DDDs de antipsicóticos. Conclusiones: Este trabajo muestra la evolución y comparación en el tipo de fármacos prescriptos para la salud mental en una década, tendiendo a la prescripción de moléculas más modernas.

Introduction: The effectiveness of treatment depends on the efficacy of the therapy and the level... more Introduction: The effectiveness of treatment depends on the efficacy of the therapy and the level of compliance of the patient. NF (non-specific factors) involved in treatment are all those effects that do not depend on the pharmacological properties of the drug. Materials and Methods: The job lasted a year. The sample consisted of patients with mental health disorders and was divided into two groups. Treatment compliance was measured with the Morisky-Green Test. Results were compared using the chi square test and relative risk. Results and Discussion: Group A had 23 patients ending 91.3% of them and group B of 22 patients, ending the 77.27%. At the beginning of the study, we found in the group A 0.86 NF/patients while in the group B 0.82 NF/patient. At the end of the study there was a 54.65% decrease in group A while in group B the proportion remained. At the beginning of the study both groups had approximately 40% of compliant patients. Data that remained in the control group rose to 80.95% in group A at the end of the study. Conclusions: The work demonstrates the negative influence of these factors on adherence to treatment.

The purpose of this paper is to implement a pharmaceutical care program in psychiatric outpatient... more The purpose of this paper is to implement a pharmaceutical care program in psychiatric outpatients in a community pharmacy. Outpatients (536) with psychiatric treatment requiring the dispensing of medication prescribed by a psychiatrist were followed up in a community pharmacy, where different medicines were prescribed as PS (pharmaceutical specialties), PC (pharmaceutical compounding) or both PS and PC. Each prescription was registered with details on a patient level. Also, three reporting sheets were designed: patients profile, patients monitoring and patients counseling. The total study population in the community pharmacy consisted of 536 outpatients: 357 (66.6%) females and 179 (33.4%) males. Most of the outpatients (78.5%) have health insurance, 50% correspond to public and 28.5% to private institution. The other patients (21.5%) do not have medical insurance. We also observed that the education level of these patients was: primary school 19.1%; high school 45.9%; college 15.3% and university 20.7%. Many patients had more than one psychiatric diagnosis, to whom were prescribed different medicines. All the medication studies on the charts were screened for prescriptions with antidepressants and other psychotropic drugs, starting on the date of first diagnosis made by a psychiatrist. The counseling to the patients was also registered. The possibility of the follow-up of these outpatients in the community pharmacy promoted the development of the psychiatric pharmacy and all advances in care for patients with mental health needs, working in closer collaboration with psychiatrists.

This work makes a philosophical approach throughout history about the concept of interdiscipline, from its roots in the ancient Greek to the modern times, giving a view which seek to be surmounting, which allow us to arrive to a neded transdiscipline for improving the patients quality of health, that is our spreme objective in our sciences.
