The evaluation of structures is imperative as these structures age and exposed to different exter... more The evaluation of structures is imperative as these structures age and exposed to different external and internal stresses and resistances. The strength of any structure inclusive of its structural components, can be determined from its health and safety. This study aimed to evaluate the structural health and safety of Flores Hall and Valencia Hall through the use of Non-Destructive Test specifically the Rebound Hammer Test and consequently propose Preventive Maintenance Management Plan. The researchers conducted non-destructive Rebound Hammer test to the structural components such as beams, bleachers, columns, and slabs of the two Halls. The results of the Rebound Hammer test were automatically produced, tabulated, and analyzed. For Flores Hall, most of the columns in the ground floor have existing condition of structurally sound which means above with the allowable compressive strength while in the second floor some of the columns have existing conditions of moderate, considerable, and major distress which were below the allowable compressive strength; in the beams and slabs, some of the grid lines have existing condition of structurally sound which were above the allowable compressive strength while majority of the grid lines have existing conditions of moderate, considerable, and major distress which were below with the allowable compressive strength. All the grid lines of the bleachers in Valencia Hall when tested by Hammer Rebound equipment yielded compressive strength above the allowable compressive strength of 28 MPa. Also, majority of the columns in Valencia Hall have existing condition of structurally sound which were above the allowable compressive strength but some of the columns have existing condition of moderate, and considerable distress which were below the allowable compressive strength. Furthermore, for the beams tested, all have existing condition of structurally sound which means above the allowable compressive strength. The Non-Destructive Test through the use of Hammer Rebound Test equipment to monitor the structural health and safety of Flores Hall and Valencia Hall yielded data in terms of the existing conditions of the beams, columns, slabs, and bleachers. The results of the Hammer Rebound test revealed the average compressive strength per grid or grid line of the structural components which show if the structural component complied with the allowable compressive strength. The proposed Preventive Maintenance Management Plan may be used to systematically implement the monitoring of structural health and safety of the Flores Hall and Valencia Hall and provide a safe structure where administrative officials, faculty members, students, and other stakeholders can perform their works and transactions.

Also, the challenges encountered by the faculty on the eight dimensions of wellness during the new normal time. The mixed methods of research were utilized, the constructed and validated questionnaire were responded by 277 faculty members of the HEI and ten randomly selected faculty members were interviewed. The results reveal that the physical wellness got the rating of occasionally while the other seven wellness got the rating of frequently, which implies that majority of the faculty were frequently practicing or doing the item descriptions of the eight dimensions of wellness. For the challenges encountered, the findings show that the spiritual challenge had a rating of seldom while the other ten challenges got the rating of sometimes, which means that the faculty encounter...

The study used a descriptive research design, constructed, and submitted for validation the survey questionnaires, and distributed google forms. and utilized mixed methods of research. The results of the study show that in terms of readiness, most of the faculty members attended the training webinars on a flexible mode of learning; spent more time attending the webinars; few have sufficient resources, but the majority are technically capable and prefer the blended learning modality. While the student-respondents, more than half of the respondents did not attend the training webinars, and minimal time was spent, the majority have sufficient resources, are technically capable, and preferred the blended learning modality...

The parameters used were the age of the building, carrying capacity or a number of occupants, the position or location, and geological and hazard maps, including building adjacency and the current state of structural members. The researchers used rapid visual screening in identifying observable hazards in terms of structural and non – structural components and utilized the mixed method of research. A rapid visual screening checklist was developed and followed by an interview to support the result of the checklist. Both Flores Hall and Valencia Hall already exceeded the number of years wherein the engineers and contractors can be held liable for any damages of the building. Both buildings are located approximately 35.7 km away from the West Valley Fault Line. The land areas were all occupied by buildings and concrete roads, only two parks have spaces with soil. Thus, the groundwater consumption, quality, and economics of a Higher Education Institution were evaluated. The mixed methods of research were used, checklist, questionnaire, and secondary data from the different offices were made to gather data on the status of the groundwater consumption in terms of water supply facilities and fixtures, the microbiological and physicochemical properties of groundwater to monitor the water quality, the cost of the extracted and distributed groundwater for its economics, including the problems encountered by the stakeholders on water supply and the proposed groundwater sustainability management plan. Every individual is a producer of waste that is why in the University all contributors of waste were involved in the study. Production of wastes is one thing, the type of waste produced is another, especially, solid waste and yet the produced waste is managed is another issue. The study used mixed methods through questionnaire and interviews to gather data on status, practices, needs, and opportunities of solid waste management. The findings revealed that the status of solid waste in the University in terms of its types are biodegradable, non-biodegradable and recyclable; with regards to the quantity of waste produced every day, during weekdays an average of 50 bags, where bag has a dimension of 100 square centimeters, Saturdays an average of 20 bags and Sundays about 10 bags. There is a disposal area, where all the waste bags are dumped, with a total area of 200 sq. meters, tools such as shovel, spade, cart, and rake are used and segre...
