Model-based systems engineering is widely used in the automotive and avionics domain but less in ... more Model-based systems engineering is widely used in the automotive and avionics domain but less in the railway domain. This paper shows how Matlab / simulink can simulate a toy train system and then control it with the PID control algorithm. To this end, an executable model has been implemented which allows for train movement simulation, this means that the engine first went forward, then backward.

This paper presents the configuration and use of the Raspberry Pi 3 electronic board for renderin... more This paper presents the configuration and use of the Raspberry Pi 3 electronic board for rendering graphic applications on a 1.44 "color LCD display with 128x128 pixel resolution or on a monitor attached to it. In this case, by programming the Raspberry Pi electronic board, the different variants of animated electronic eye pairs can be obtained on the two displays, which can be used on robotic structures, halloween masks, decorative skulls, etc.

This paper shows that Matlab/Simulink can be used to develop the mathematical model for the train system from first principles and then represented the derived equations. To this end, an executable model has been implemented which allows for train movement simulation, this means that the engine first went forward, then backward.

The main ideas of the paper are to model the ball and beam system considering nonlinear factors and coupling effect and to design controller to control the ball position. MATLAB/SIMULINK software program has been used to plot instant system response and to determine the system characteristics with different values of controller parameters in order to choose parameters values which obtained best performance for the system.

The purpose of the experiment is to explore a way to integrate the Elvis Alive humanoid platform (developed by WowWee), the proximity sensor and the touch sensor, in order to implement a reactive-affective system with an advanced evolution. More precisely, it was desired that when approaching a human subject at a short distance (his hand detected by the proximity sensor), the humanoid structure to react with a state of surprise, which will consist of: raising eyebrows, raising eyelids, raising the head, moving the eyes left and right and positioning the mouth slightly ajar. Then, the collaboration protocol will consist of a voice interaction (via a mobile phone) between the human operator and the humanoid structure. As a result of the interaction, the humanoid structure will come to realize the following emotional states: joy, sadness, surprise and neutral.

Scary Terry Talking Skull robotic structure is used to transmit voice commands via a mobile phone to the Chimpanzee Alive biomimetic structure. The voice command will determine an amazement expression of the biomimetic structure. Returning to the neutral expressive state is done by pressing the touch sensor.

This article aims to implement some practical applications using the Socibot Desktop social robot... more This article aims to implement some practical applications using the Socibot Desktop social robot. We mean to realize three applications: creating a speech sequence using the Kiosk menu of the browser interface, creating a program in the Virtual Robot browser interface and making a new guise to be loaded into the robot's memory in order to be projected onto it face. The first application is actually created in the Compose submenu that contains 5 file categories: audio, eyes, face, head, mood, this being helpful in the creation of the projected sequence. The second application is more complex, the completed program containing: audio files, speeches (can be created in over 20 languages), head movements, the robot's facial parameters function of each action units (AUs) of the facial muscles, its expressions and its line of sight. Last application aims to change the robot's appearance with the guise created by us. The guise was created in Adobe Photoshop and then loaded into the robot's memory.
This paper details the development of a model for a mobile robot constructed from Lego® Mindstorm... more This paper details the development of a model for a mobile robot constructed from Lego® Mindstorms®. Equations representing the dynamics and kinematics of the robot are derived. In addition, the motors and wheels are represented in the model. The development of a multi rate simulation is described. Data from an IMU attached to the robot enables validation of the model using analogue matching and integral least squares. The result of the validation is that the model is a suitable representation of the robot. A method of controlling the robot is developed, using PID controllers and a Line Of Sight Autopilot. A simulation can also be performed using the MAPLE programming environment to simulate the movement of a finger of the robotic structure (this can be applied to all fingers) as a comparison with their movement by using the Hand Control software interface.
