The number of children in single-parent families has risen significantly over the past four decades, causing substantial concern among policymakers and the public. Researchers have identified the rise in single-parent families (especially mother-child families) as a major factor driving the long-term increase in child poverty in Nigeria. The effects of growing up in single parent households have been shown to go beyond economics, increasing the risk of children dropping out of school, disconnecting from the labor force, and becoming teen parents. Although many children growing up in single-parent families succeed, others will face significant challenges in making the transition to adulthood. Children in lower-income, single parent families face the most significant barriers to success in school and in other aspect of life. The paper tends to focus on children in primary schools significantly.

Several countries tried to create security forces to safeguard and defend their population as well as guarantee the maintenance of law and order in order to achieve cohesiveness in growth and development. The Special Anti-Robbery Squads (SARS) was created in Nigeria in 1992 to deal with these duties. However, the Nigerian government announced the end of SARS via the Inspector General of Police in October 2020. Why? Has the unit completed its mission? Is the nation of Nigeria today free from crimes like robbery, abduction, etc. that this unit was intended to stop. In Nigeria, a number of human rights activists and campaigners had already started a substantial campaign against this security unit, particularly in late 2017. (SARS). This campaign intended to raise awareness of the many human rights violations the SARS unit was accountable for using the hashtag #ENDSARS. Amnesty International, the United Nations, and other human rights organisations are just a few of the organisations that have brought attention to the use of torture, extrajudicial killings, extortions, and rape by SARS personnel. However, not much was done to curtail these abuses, which eventually extended to the country's other security agencies. These problems have either gone unaddressed by the government or have been threatened with media restrictions despite lip attention. These dishonest policemen are now free to act whatever they like. This depends on how widespread corruption is in the Nigerian system, which indirectly impacts all of the institutional organisations in the country, the paper claims. Utilizing the qualitative research approach, data from both primary and secondary sources were analysed. The Anti-Torture Act of 2017's successful implementation offers promise for a rebranded security force in Nigeria; The prompt investigation of all allegations of torture or other ill-treatment and the direct prosecution of officials was sufficient proof that there had been abuse of power. Other measures included formal training, orientation, and reorientation for new and veteran officers, adjustments to officer salary structures to reflect the new minimum wage, and others.

The population of the study consisted of 90 head and class teachers. This study was based on the contemporary organization theory which states that “all systems are characterized by an assemblage or combination of parts whose function is interdependent. The study adopted the descriptive survey design. The study used simple random sampling designs. One types of research instruments were used i.e. questionnaires. The content validity was tested. Test-retest method was used to test the reliability of the instruments. An introductory letter from the university and a permit from MOE were sought. The researcher visited the sampled schools and administered the questionnaires to the teachers. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics (frequency tables and percentages). The hypothesis established for the study were tested using the t-test for paired sample analysis. Findings of the study showed that: (a) the effectiveness in the supervision and implementation of curriculum and instruction in primary schools is needed (b) the adequacy of the teaching/learning resources were not available meaning that the status is low. (C) The attitude of pupils towards learning is low (d) the study showed overwhelming evidence how the attitude of teachers towards teaching affect performance to learning in primary schools. (e) It was found that the reward of excellence by society can improve pupil’s performance on the basis of these findings. The following recommendations were made :(a) seminars for teachers be intensified to encourage them to cultivate a positive attitude toward teaching in primary schools.(b)external and internal supervision of curriculum is intensified in all the schools in Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa state. (c) That schools initiate income generating activities to raise funds to supplement resources donated by the free primary education (FPE) programmes. (d) Teachers with experience should be employed and those present should be further sent for training on how to improve the performance of pupils in the study area.

This paper analyses the fundamental trends of income and human development index and the rate of unemployment in Nigeria. The fact that reduced unemployment rate improves human development and consequently reduces poverty. When growth in public capital expenditure the rate of unemployment falls, and this improved human development and infrastructure based policies which initially reduce unemployment, will also improve the hiring conditions of Nigerians. This paper seeks to discuss unemployment as a key part of poverty, and therefore recommends and operational change for macroeconomic policy to employment generation. Of which significant reduction and unemployment entrepreneurship should be encouraged as this will also reduce unemployment and contribute to sustainable economic development in Nigeria. Furthermore the paper adapted the theory of diminishing return for analysis.

It argues that the system has been predominantly non-functional, and identifies some factors responsible for the problem. Some of the factors identified are weak commitment of the Nigerian government to the nation's tertiary education system, manifested in poor funding of the nation's higher institutions of learning; incessant strikes; poor implementation of educational policies by relevant authorities; inadequate skilled, qualified and experienced teachers in several departments in the institutions; prevalence of corrupt practices in the higher institutions; weak educational foundation (at the primary and post-primary level), etc. Considering the strong linkage of higher education to national development, the paper argues that the non-functionality of Nigeria's tertiary education system constitutes a clog in the country's wheel of economic progress. It calls for urgent reforms in the system to enhance its contribution to human and national development. Recommendations for policy consideration include strong commitment of government (by way of improved funding) to strengthening the nation's higher institutions and making them more functional; training and retraining of teachers in the institutions; strong commitment to primary and post-primary education; constant review of the school curriculum to reflect/accommodate new developments, etc.

Going by the fact that the educational system in Nigeria has been in a state of malady, early education is even worst, this paper explains the process of implementing new innovations for the success and development of early education so as to improve national development in the future. The paper concludes that until the handlers of early childhood education are reoriented as to the need for innovation and improvement, of teachers in preprimary and kindergarten as regards proper teachers qualification, this vicious cycle Nigeria finds herself will not only continue but over time will become even worst than it already is. Also the government should partake more in early childhood education instead of leaving it to the private schools only. The paper also made several recommendations.
