The differential diagnosis must identify potentially reversible conditions, of different etiologies, such as metabolic changes, intoxications, and nutritional deficiencies. In primary degenerative dementias and sequelae forms, the etiological diagnosis carries therapeutic and prognostic implications. Objectives: to analyse the current epidemiological profile of dementia in the state of São Paulo in the last 5 years. In order to comprehensively explore multitarget mechanism and key active compounds of Artemisia a... more In order to comprehensively explore multitarget mechanism and key active compounds of Artemisia argyi essential oil (AAEO) in the treatment of pressure injuries (PIs), we analyzed the biological functions and pathways involved in the intersection targets of AAEO and PIs based on network pharmacology, and the affinity of AAEO active compounds and core targets was verified by molecular docking finally. In our study, we first screened 54 effective components according to the relative content and biological activity. In total, 103 targets related to active compounds of AAEO and 2760 targets associated with PIs were obtained, respectively, and 50 key targets were overlapped by Venny 2.1.0. e construction of key targets-compounds network was achieved by the STRING database and Cytoscape 3.7.2 software. GO analysis from Matespace shows that GO results are mainly enriched in biological processes, including adrenergic receptor activity, neurotransmitter clearance, and neurotransmitter metabolic process. KEGG analysis by the David and Kobas website shows that the key targets can achieve the treatment on PIs through a pathway in cancer, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, human immunodeficiency virus 1 infection, MAPK signaling pathway, Wnt signaling pathway, etc. In addition, molecular docking results from the CB-Dock server indicated that active compounds of AAEO had good activity docking with the first 10 key targets. In conclusion, the potential targets and regulatory molecular mechanisms of AAEO in the treatment of PIs were analyzed by network pharmacology and molecular docking. AAEO can cure PIs through the synergistic effect of multicomponent, multitarget, and multipathway, providing a theoretical basis and new direction for further study.

Objectives: To analyze the current panorama of conservative treatment procedures for mid-level traumatic brain injury performed in the State of São Paulo and to correlate with the current epidemiology. Methods: Literature review and observational, descriptive and transversal data collect on conservative treatment data for medium grade traumatic brain injury, available at DATASUS from January 2008 to December 2020 and articles available at Scielo, Lilacs and PubMed. Results: There were 63,218 hospitalizations for conservative treatment procedures in this period, accounting for R$ 68,668,413.92, with 2011 being the year with the highest number of hospitalizations (5,262), although 2020 with the greatest expenditure (R$ 5,984,875.09). 1,149 of them were elective, while 47,478 were urgent, with the occurrence of 24,527 in the public sector and 13,705 in the private sector. Glaucoma é uma neuropatia óptica crônica e progressiva, de origem multifatorial que acomete o di... more Glaucoma é uma neuropatia óptica crônica e progressiva, de origem multifatorial que acomete o disco óptico e/ou camada de fibras nervosas da retina. Essa patologia cursa com redução da acuidade visual e consequente declínio na qualidade de vida dos pacientes, sendo atualmente a principal causa de cegueira irreversível do mundo. Traçar o perfil epidemiológico de pacientes portadores de glaucoma nos últimos 5 anos na região Sudeste do Brasil. Foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura, buscando artigos publicados a partir de 2009, em inglês e português, nas bases Scielo e Pubmed. Além disso, foi realizada uma coleta de dados no SIA/SUS buscando informações acerca do número total e custo dos tratamentos para glaucoma, da faixa etária, etnia e gênero, das terapias medicamentosas entre janeiro de 2015 e dezembro de 2019. Ainda no SIA/SUS foi realizada coleta de dados referentes ao número de procedimentos cirúrgicos realizados e seus respectivos custos para a região Sudeste entre janeiro de 2015 e dezembro de 2019. Houve crescimento progressivo no número de tratamentos oftalmológicos para glaucoma e no número de procedimentos cirúrgicos para tratamento do glaucoma. A faixa etária mais prevalente e que apresentou maior crescimento foi a de 60 a 79 anos, correspondendo a 57,1% dos tratamentos farmacológicos. Os resultados sugerem que o glaucoma possui uma prevalência crescente na região Sudeste. Dessa forma, faz-se necessário medidas que possibilitem um diagnóstico precoce visando reduzir gastos e o impacto na qualidade de vida dos pacientes portadores da doença.

Objectives: To analyze the current panorama of treatment of polyneuropathies performed in the State of São Paulo and to correlate with the epidemiology. Methods: literature review and observational, descriptive and transversal data collect on treatment of polyneuropathies, available at DATASUS from January 2008 to December 2020, assessing the number of hospitalizations, the amount of public spending, complexity, mortality rate, deaths, permanence and character of service, and articles available in Scielo, Lilacs and PubMed. O presente artigo tem como objetivo resgatar historicamente as diferentes teorias que surgiram na... more O presente artigo tem como objetivo resgatar historicamente as diferentes teorias que surgiram na tentativa de explicação do processo saúde-doença, e tomar como base os determinantes sociais da saúde para analisar a epidemiologia do sofrimento psíquico no território brasileiro. Será destacado como o processo de exploração advindo do modo de produção capitalista, correlacionando com as diferenças sociais de classe, gênero e raça, tem tamanha responsabilidade na alta prevalência dos transtornos mentais na sociedade. Mostra-se, dessa forma, como é inegável conceber a dialética entre as ciências médicas e ciências humanas para o adequado desenvolvimento da saúde mental.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo resgatar historicamente as diferentes teorias que surgiram na... more O presente artigo tem como objetivo resgatar historicamente as diferentes teorias que surgiram na tentativa de explicação do processo saúde-doença, e tomar como base os determinantes sociais da saúde para analisar a epidemiologia do sofrimento psíquico no território brasileiro. Será destacado como o processo de exploração advindo do modo de produção capitalista, correlacionando com as diferenças sociais de classe, gênero e raça, tem tamanha responsabilidade na alta prevalência dos transtornos mentais na sociedade. Mostra-se, dessa forma, como é inegável conceber a dialética entre as ciências médicas e ciências humanas para o adequado desenvolvimento da saúde mental.
