Further the Specific objectives of the study include (1) understanding the different types of Market Risks faced by the banks, (2) Evaluating what are the different tools which are used to evaluate the market risk of the banks (3) Evaluating the difference between the Internal Model approach and the Standard approach to account for market risk (4) How Historical Value at Risk (HVaR) is different from Standard approach assigned under BASEL norms. The study uses the data from five equity stocks and three debt stocks in which Jammu and Kashmir bank has invested for a period of 300 days prior from the date of investigation. The historical value at risk (HVaR) approach is used to identify the risk of each stock to compare it with the already set standard approach according to BASEL II. The findings of the study suggest that the internal model approach (HVaR) is very beneficial as compared to standard...

It is an organized market place, set-up to make over the commodity market by way of minimising the cost of inter-mediation and thereby optimizing marketing efficiency. It is first of its kind of institutes and right from the beginning it was acclaimed to be a tool to revolutionize the commodity market. But it did not lost long as just after five years from its evolution with the NSEL appearing as an institutionalized but opaque and secretive den of speculation and possibly fraud turned all acclamation to be a myth.Problem or Issue Addressed: The problem which will addressed in this case study is about the fraud which erupted due to the regulatory negligence of government, auditor’s inability and lack of corporate governance. The NSEL failed to pay to its investors who have invested in commodity pair contracts. And it was subsequent...

However, studies examining the relationship between OMC data and medical demand are lacking. This study aims to assess the predictive value of OMC data for medical demand. Using sentiment analysis and word analysis results from OMC platform data, this study develops a medical demand forecasting model using OMC data in China. It is proposed that the research framework for forecasting highlights the importance of OMC data and would positively improve the accuracy of medical demand forecasting.

Design/methodology/approach A field experiment was set up over a period of three months to test the effects of two variants of an advertisement campaign (a social vs a discrete ad) on the modeled networked and discrete ROIs. Findings The authors find that emphasizing discrete user actions leads to lower network gains, but higher monetary returns while the social action emphasis produces higher network gains, but lower monetary returns. The study further suggests that social action focus is preferable for brand promotion and engagement, whereas the discrete action focus is suitable for boosting sales and website tra...

The assessment of disease pattern and burden in a defined population based on the symptomatology ... more The assessment of disease pattern and burden in a defined population based on the symptomatology as well as the organic presentation is quite fruitful. Objectives: This study was designed to determine demographic characteristics and disease patterns related to different organ systems presenting at first tier of primary healthcare system. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using Basic Health Unit’s (BHU) Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) database retrospectively in order to determine the age, gender and organ system wise distribution of various diseases. Secondary data was collected from standard OPD register in which all patients that presented in the outpatient department of the facility during a period of 6 months from 1st January, 2017 to 30th June, 2017 were included and no patient was excluded. Results: Out of total 2357 patients, 1024 (43.4%) were males and 1333 (56.6%) were females. Most of the patients 1057 (44.8%) belonged to the age group of 15-49 years whereas o...

Organizational sustainability is defined as the ability for an organization to accomplish a range of economic, environmental, and human performance objectives. As one of the most studied topics in organizational science, employee engagement at work is seen as a critical component to achieving sustainable organizational success. In order to better understand the employee engagement discourse, this study examined the keywords that appear in the titles and abstract of the employee engagement research domain using the burst detection and social network analysis techniques. A total of 1406 employee engagement relevant articles that were published from 1990 to 2015 were included and investigated in the study. The results revealed the fading, emerging, and central themes within the employee engagement domain.

Since its launch, the Journal of Contemporary Eastern Asia (JCEA) has gone through several changes and developments, including a recent change in ownership. Now the JCEA is primary published by the Cyber Emotions Research Institute at YeungNam University, South Korea. In order to widen the journal's scope and readership, the Asia Triple Helix Society was also engaged as co-publisher. In this article, we detail these developments; particularly we will discus the journal's history, current status, and impact factor.

Using articles from the Web of Science database, 1406 publications published in SCI, SCI-E, SSCI, and A&HCI outlets between 1990 and 2015 period were extracted and included in the analysis. Following an examination of this domain, we found that the network is relatively un-fragmented with a strong core that contains one large community of authors. This study also found evidence among the collaboration networks to suggest the power law distribution exists in the author and institutional networks in which the incoming nodes and links prefer to attach to the nodes that are already well connected. The study also sheds light on both the hidden network collaboration among authors, countries, and within the work engagement domain.

Electronic government, or e-Government, is the practice of providing public services to citizens,... more Electronic government, or e-Government, is the practice of providing public services to citizens, businesses, and other government agencies where government services can be accessed through the Internet, mobile phone, fax, mail, telephone, and personal visits (MGAHA, 2005). Developing countries, utilizing the late comer advantage, are mimicking trends of paperless governments with the expectations to reap the same benefits enjoyed by developed countries. However, e-Government initiatives have not always been successful in developing countries. According to the study conducted by Heeks (2003), the rate of e-Government success in developing countries was only 15 percent. The authors believe that such failures are mainly due to certain unique social, economic, technological, and environmental challenges faced by e-Government in developing countries. For example, some major issues include digital divide, political instability, and skills-related issues. However, the research dealing with these problems is limited. Therefore, in this chapter, the authors discuss these challenges.

Methodology:Using YouTube APIs (Application Programming Interface) and Webometrics analyst tool, we collected data on about 100 all-time-most-viewed YouTube videos and information about the users associated with the videos. We constructed and tested an empirical model to understand the relationship among users' social and non-social capital-user age, gender, view count, subscriber, join date, total videos posted, video characteristics-postdate, duration, and video category, external network capitalin-links and hit counts, and Virality-likes, dislikes, favorite count, view count, and comment count. Partial Least Square (PLS) and Webometric analysis was used to explore the association among the constructs. Main findings: Among other findings, our results showed that popularity of the videos was not only the function of YouTube system per se, but that network dynamics (e.g., in-links and hits counts) and offline social capital (e.g., fan base and fame) play crucial roles in the viral phenomenon, particularly view count. Originality: We for the first time constructed and tested an empirical model to find out the determinants of viral phenomenon over YouTube.
