The challenge is that the service quality is being ignored which is leading to more child deaths. . The research sought to address the gap caused by lack of quality service in Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission ( PMTCT). The study survey was restricted to 14 health institutions in Chikomba District. The health institutions have 217 staff who could participate. According to PMTCT Service statistics 3 rd quarter 2012 for Chikomba District the beneficiaries totaled 1185. Four Chiefs in the District and two relevant stakeholders District Aids Coordinator (DAAC) Focal Officer and PMTCT Coordinator Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF) were also part of the target population. The study sought to investigateworkplace accidents and diseases affecting workers in the informal... more The study sought to investigateworkplace accidents and diseases affecting workers in the informal construction industry in particular builders and assistants in the high density suburbs of Ruvimbo and Rujeko in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West province of Zimbabwe. The study came about after the realisation that there were occupational accidents and diseases that are affecting workers in the informal construction industry which are causing minor to serious injuries and even deaths. The study adopted the mixed methods approach with questionnaires, interviews and observations as key research instruments to gather data. The estimated population for the study was 200 informal construction workers in Rujeko and Ruvimbo suburbs. A sample size of 20 respondents. Key findings of the study revealed that workers in the informal construction industry are well aware of the health and safety hazards that are in their industry. The study sought to: (a) examine the strategies being employed by Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital in... more The study sought to: (a) examine the strategies being employed by Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital in preventing TB among its nursing staff, (b) explore the measures being taken to reduce and avoid the spread of TB from patients to the nursing staff. Furthermore, the research looked at the role played by Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital in prevention of TB from patients to the nursing staff. The researcher further looked at whether there is good ventilation for its staff to execute their duties effectively within the hospital TB department. The study also attempted to look at whether there is a policy document which guides the handling of TB patients at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital. The study also looked at whether patients treated with TB are taught on the various measures to prevent the spread of the disease within their wards. The study aimed at finding ways of improving organisational viability by small businesses in Chin... more The study aimed at finding ways of improving organisational viability by small businesses in Chinhoyi through applying Customer Relationship Management (CRM). This study was prompted by lack of growth of the sector. These firms have been facing a business environment characterised by low Gross Domestic Product (GDP), foreign currency challenges, high unemployment, brain drain, liquidity crisis, high competition and low demand for domestic products. The descriptive design was used. Thirty registered small businesses, with approximately 100 subordinates and 25 managers/supervisors formed the target population for the study. The sample size was 40 and comprised of 30 subordinates and 10 managers/supervisors. Simple random sampling was used to select respondents for the study. The research instruments used were questionnaires, observations and interviews. The study found out that many small businesses do not have a comprehensive CRM programme. The study concluded that lack of a comprehensive customer relationship management programmes by small businesses has been hampering performance of the sector. The study recommends the implementation of CRM programmes by small businesses in Zimbabwe through information centres and embracing information technology. Feedback processes are also necessary for CRM. There is need to carry out a national survey on CRM for small businesses for generalisation of findings across the entire Zimbabwean economy.
