During the last decades, new educational paradigms and didactic strategies have arisen. Nevertheless, it was not always the case that engineering educators had a clear understanding of a paradigm or a strategy being used. Thus, after an exhaustive review of literature, this paper presents a guide for engineering educators that shows how the multiple didactic strategies are classified within the four educational paradigms found in engineering education (positivism, constructivism, socio-critical and communicative-critical). Keywords: educational paradigms; didactic strategies; positivism; constructivism; socio-critical; communicative-critical

The internationally renowned normative framework ABET has redefined the role of engineering education, including professional skills, such as leadership, communication, understanding of ethics, the ability to work in teams and engineering professionalism in a context. global and social, promoting lifelong learning, and knowledge of contemporary issues. These competencies demanded by these organizations, it is necessary to use teaching-learning teaching techniques in the classroom. As a result, the need to analyze the role and purpose of engineering educators is essential in the context of this research, guiding to understand the complex teaching and learning process of their students. This bibliographic review provides the engineering teacher with a guide of what teaching technique can be applied in the classroom, according to the skills and abilities that they want to develop in their students.

The scope of work in rehabilitation projects is very different from that of new buildings projects. The key features associated with remodeling projects are unique, risky, highly complex and intrinsically full of uncertainties that are constant throughout the life cycle of the project. In addition, these projects have always been identified with the poor performance of the project that covers aspects of time, cost and quality. The objective of this study is to identify potential leadership qualities among managers of buildings refurbishment projects. In addition, the relationships between the factors of uncertainty and the performance of refurbishment projects will also be determined according to leadership qualities. To achieve this goal, a comprehensive bibliographic search was carried out, wherefrom this review, a research model was proposed. This model serves as a basis for broader research on leadership qualities among project managers to better manage uncertainties in refurbishment projects.

Keywords: Project Manager, rehabilitation of buildings, uncertainty, project performance, leadership

Revista de Estudios y Experiencias en Educación, 2020

An important part of the tasks in preparation for Industry 4.0 is the adjustment of higher education to the requirements of this vision, in particular, engineering education. The objective of this research is to present a proposal for the engineering teacher, which consists of how engineering education should be adjusted to Industry 4.0 from the (1) curriculum, relating the study programs of the university under study with the existing courses and contents of Industry 4. 0, thus adapting the necessary components and identifying the gaps for the creation of new modules; and from the (2) laboratory, through Kolb's experiential learning theory and the implementation of teaching-learning methodologies, resulting in an improvement in the learning environment and in practices that maximize the students' skills in learning through their own experience. Finally, this research is a first step towards a more tangible vision of engineering education adjusted to Industry 4.0.

The book illuminates what hybrid organizations are and how they generate new ways of creating blended value to secure the well-being of future generations and preservation of ecological services. The book also discusses how sustainable innovation may offer creative solutions to societal issues, the sharing economy and the circular economy. This book will appeal to those taking MBA and EMBA programmes, and those with an interest in creating sustainable business and innovation solutions. SERIE "Innovation and Technology Horizons": As business landscape constantly shifts in today's digital age, this timely series looks at how business and society can harness technological innovation to succeed and drive progress. The books in this series identify new innovation capabilities and emerging technologies and investigate the managerial implications of such technologies. As business processes become increasingly complex, the series also explores how businesses can transform themselves with new digital technologies while aligning themselves with today’s societal goals. This series provides direction through research on innovation and technology management and will be of benefit to anyone who is keen to thrive in an evolving business environment.

PALABRAS CLAVES: Case-based learning, case-based teaching, engineering, engineering education, management.
