Hb plays an important role in transporting oxygen through the body. If the mother is anemic, the oxygen cycle in the body is reduced and will result in the increased of metabolic rate during pregnancy. Anemia during pregnancy will increase risk factors in inhibiting growth and low birth weight (LBW), premature birth, infant mortality, perinatal death and reduce body defenses to infection either in mother and child. This study aimed to determine the anemia status of pregnancy is a risk factor for producing stunting at birth in Puskesmas Sentolo 1 Kulon Progo. The sample of 192 babies were employed, 64 babies with short birth lenght for case group and control group covered 128 babies with normal birth lenght. Data obtained through data from Puskesmas medical record in 2016 then analyzed by using the case-control approach. The independent variable is the anemia status of pregnant mother while the dependent variabel is the length of birth. The data were analysed by using Chi-Square test to find out the correlation between of maternal anemia status with short birth lenght, then to identify risk factor using Odd-Ratio. The result of the study indicated that there was a relationship between anemia status of pregnant woman and shortstature at birth marked by p-value = 0,000 (p <0.05). In addition, the anemia status of pregnant woman is a risk factor for short body length at birth (OR = 4.31; 95% CI = 2.28-8.15). Conclusion, anemia status of pregnant woman is a risk factor for stunting at birth in Puskesmas Sentolo 1 Kulon Progo.

Research paper thumbnail of The modification of M41S materials: addition of metal clusters and nanoparticles

The grafting of simple metal clusters, such as [Ru3(CO)12] and [PPN]2[Fe4(CO)13], and the larger, and in one instance, bimetallic, clusters [(dppe)2Cu][Cu6Fe4(CO)16] and [PPh4][Ru10(μ6-C)(μ-H)(CO)24] was achieved. Nanoparticles contg. Fe and Pt were also anchored on siliceous supports. The proportion of Fe to Pt in FePt nanoparticles was adjusted by altering the molar ratios of starting materials. Consequently, ratios of Fe:Pt of 20:80, 27:73, 40:60, 53:47 and 64:36 were examd. The materials produced in this manner were characterized by Powder x-ray Diffraction (XRD), BET surface areas and TEM and elemental anal. The FePt materials were also studied for their magnetic properties by SQUID magnetometry. A no. of the metal contg. materials were studied for their potential to produce hydrocarbons in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. [on SciFinder(R)]

Research paper thumbnail of Tungsten oxides-containing titanium silicalite for liquid phase epoxidation of 1-octene with aqueous hydrogen peroxide

The solids have been tested for epoxidation of 1-octene with aqueous H2O2 in acetone as solvent. It was found that the presence of tungstate species in the catalysts enhanced the rate of the formation of epoxide. Diol as a site-product was also observed due to the acidic properties of the catalysts.

Research paper thumbnail of The effect of sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide on the strength of aggregates made from coal fly ash using the geopolymerisation method

Asia-pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2010

It has been revealed that the geopolymerisation strongly depends on the physicochemical properties of fly ash, the availability of soluble silicates and aluminates, and the concentration of added sodium hydroxide. The presence of sodium hydroxide increases the amount of soluble silicates and aluminates in the mixture through fly ash solubilisation. Solubility tests on various fly ash samples have shown that solubility increases as the concentration of sodium hydroxide in the fly ash increases, which also increases the strength of the resulting geopolymer aggregates. The compression strength of the geopolymer aggregates also increases to a maximum before decreasing again as the amount of sodium silicate is increased.
