heritage importance: the Barra Lighthouse, the oldest in this Americas, built in
1698 in San Antonio da Barra Fort in Salvador, at the time the capital of the
Portuguese colony in Brazil, and Recalada Lighthouse, built in 1906 by the initiative
of the Navy Ministry, located in Monte Hermoso and one of the highest
in South America. It’s heritage significance, their contribution in building local
and national identities and their relevance to the tourist circuits that are part,
are some of the themes to be developed in this work.
