Data sofar available in literature do not give any convincing evidence regarding clear relationship between coffee and the etiopathogenesis of several diseases including diabetes mellitus type 2, cardiovascular diseases, gout, osteoporosis, neurologic disorders and colorectal cancer. Favorable (protective) effects of coffee consumption against hepatocellular cancer have been repeatedly described. The autors discuss on todate findings about relationship between blood cholesterol and uric acid in literature and remind their own experience with different population groups in Harar, Ethiopia, where consumption of coffee is habitual in daily life of the inhabitants.

This chapter presents the timeline of these campaigns and the results of a mission undertaken by the authors in 2008. The site presents four funeral or hypogeum chambers (A, B, C, D) accessible from the current ground level by two vertical access shafts (1, 2). The chambers have delivered dozens of potteries as well as human bones. The chamber D, undisturbed at the time of the first archaeological campaign, hence delivered human bones in anatomic connexion above a sepulchral level containing potteries. The very limited excavation (0.60 x 0.60 m) conducted in 2008 inside this level down to the lowers layers made possible the observation of undisturbed potteries containing few burnt bones and the remains of human teeth. Two Radiocarbon datings enable to attribute the use of this sepulchral level to the XIII and XIV centuries. The Christian crosses engraved on one of the potteries found enable to evoke the presence of a Christian veneer in a cultural atmosphere that is still « Pagan ».

Results from the electronic thermal conductivity versus temperature (T) are presented. From the result, electrical and thermal conductivity at low temperature obey the Wiedemann–Franz law. Moreover, at the normal state, the electronic thermal conductivity of ErNi2B2C is directly proportional to the temperature (T) and reaches its maximum (kink) at the transition temperature, Tc. After the superconducting transition temperature, the electronic thermal conductivity begin to decrease. The drop in electronic thermal conductivity beyond its peak (kink) value is due to the formation of energy gap and the absence of Cooper pairs.

The site of Ketetiya (South-Wällo) was discovered by the inhabitants of the village in 1997 and has since been the object of several archaeological and preservation campaigns. This study therefore is conducted with the main objective of identifying factors that affect solar lighting products adoption in rural villages of Ethiopia particularly in Oromia Special Zone Surrounding Addis Ababa. The study is tuned to Rogers' perceived attributes of innovation constructs, namely relative advantage, compatibility with needs, compatibility with values and experiences, complexity, observability, and trialability in determining their effect on intention to adopt solar lighting products. A cross-sectional survey design was employed. Respondents were selected using cluster sampling method from each weredas of the special zone and a convenient sample of 384 off-grid household heads were selected for the study. Efficient use of these biomass resources to provide a worldwide energy supply that is sustainable. The techniques that enhance this biomass's energy potential require a thorough grasp of its physicochemical characteristics. The energy content of biomass resources (HHV or NHV) is a crucial factor to consider when determining their suitability for energy production. In this work, proximate assessments of biomass materials (agricultural residues) and their blends were developed based on some published empirical model equations to investigate the impact on their net and high heating value. EFB, corncob, and groundnut shell blends' computed net heating value (NHV) and high heating value (HHV) were found to be between 16.157 and 18.483 MJ/kg. According to the findings, agricultural residues are excellent substrates for the generation of solid fuel. The energy values of biomass samples might also be calculated using the empirical formulae based on their nearby characteristics.
