This approach treats face recognition as a two-dimensional recognition problem, taking advantage of the fact that faces are normally upright and thus may be described by a small set of 2-D characteristic views. Face images are projected onto a ...

In this paper, we present the architecture of MMN and evaluate the total wire length of MMN, TESH, mesh, and torus networks. It is shown that the proposed MMN possesses simple structure and moderate wire length. The total wire length of MMN is slightly higher than that of mesh network and lower than that of 2-D torus network. Overall performance suggests that, MMN is an optimal network among these networks.

In this paper, we present the architecture of the STTN, addressing of node, routing of message, and evaluate the static network performance of STTN, TTN, TESH, mesh, and torus networks. It is shown that the STTN possesses several attractive features, including constant degree, small diameter, low cost, small average distance, moderate bisection width, and high fault tolerant performance than that of other conventional and hierarchical interconnection networks.

The significance of ANCA positivity (ANCA+) at the time of RTx on recurrent disease is controversial. We evaluated clinical outcomes and predictors of vasculitis relapse in sixteen transplanted AAV patients who were ANCA+ at RTx at a single University Medical Center. Allograft function, vasculitis relapse, and predictors of vasculitis relapse were assessed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis. Our cohort had a median age of 64 years, 88 % Caucasians, 63 % males, 50 % PR3+. All patients were in remission at the time of RTx. Twelve received induction therapy and all were on mycophenolate mofetil, prednisone and tacrolimus. The mean (SD) serum creatinine was 1.2 (0.3) mg/dl at 1 year and 1.8 (1.7) mg/dl at last follow up. Six developed vasculitis relapse at post-transplant. All relapses were treated with escalation in immunosuppression. One non-compliant pati...

Users deserve a threat free environment where they are not at risk of providing their password to potential hackers when they are using it to access any protected resource. To prevent the grid resources from being illegally visited, a strong password authentication system, that requires input from both the user and server, is necessary. In this paper, based on the elliptic curve cryptosystem, we have proposed an efficient and most importantly a secure user authentication scheme for grid computing to guard against attacks like server spoofing, On-line and off-line password guessing and replay attack. The proposed scheme only requires a one-way hash function and Weil pairing, which makes it simpler and no hassle of safe guarding and private key. More over it makes uses of Lattice which is computationally must faster and efficient.

The association between hemoglobin E (HbE) and malaria is less clear than that of hemoglobin S and C. As part of a malaria study in the Chittagong Hill Districts of Bangladesh, an initial random sample of 202 individuals showed that 39% and 49% of Marma and Khyang ethnic groups, respectively, were positive for either heterozygous or homozygous hemoglobin E. In this group, 6.4% were also found to be severely deficient and 35% mildly deficient for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD). In a separate Plasmodium falciparum malaria case-uninfected control study, the odds of having homozygous hemoglobin E (HbEE) compared with normal hemoglobin (HbAA) were higher among malaria cases detected by passive surveillance than age and location matched uninfected controls (odds ratio [OR] = 5.0, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.07-46.93; N = 142 pairs). The odds of heterozygous hemoglobin E (HbAE) compared with HbAA were similar between malari...

We present the architecture of DMMN, addressing of nodes, routing of message and evaluate the static network performance. It is shown that the proposed DMMN possesses several attractive features, including constant degree, small diameter, low cost, small average distance, moderate bisection width, and same fault tolerant performance than that of other conventional and hierarchical interconnection networks. With the same node degree, arc connectivity, bisection width, and wiring complexity, the average distance of the DMMN is lower than that of other networks.

In our method, a memory is shared between multiple physical links by using the multi-port memory. We evaluate and discuss the communication performance in the various situations. It is shown that the minimum number of memory banks required in multiport memory for 2D-torus and 2D-mesh networks is 8. Our proposed method yields high performance for both torus and mesh networks. Even this high performance is retained when the buffer size and the packet length are same.

Petroleum ether, ethyl acetate (EtOAc) and methanol (MeOH) extracts and the compounds isolated from EtOAc fractions were studied for their antimicrobial activities. Cytotoxic activities were conducted only with EtOAc extract and its selected fractions. The EtOAc extract showed promising antimicrobial activities against all the gram positive and gram negative bacteria whereas petroleum ether extract showed moderate activities and the MeOH extract did not show any antimicrobial activities. The isolated pure compounds XM-1, XM-2 and XM-3, whose structures were not elucidated, exhibited activities against most of the bacterial strains. The cytotoxicity towards brine shrimp nauplii of the crude EtOAC extract and its selected fractions were studied. The L...
