Dealing with computers in reading and writing nowadays is considered as a core element of literacy in the age of information. Many countries in the world have recognized the importance and the great value of using digital technologies in language learning. Teaching English language is a debate that thousands of scholars speak about. A lot of papers have discussed this matter because of its importance and because it is known that teaching is considered the first source of learning language. Gilster (1997) puts the assurance more specifically on digital literacy so as to understand information in a wide range of sources. Although many teachers and curricula designers neglect the role that technology can achieve in teaching English language, using technology to equip the teaching process with many choices, can make learning more motivating and make teaching more product...

Total number of18 endoscopic supraorbital keyhole craniotomies were performed. Distances between the different targetedanatomical constructs were looked at and measured. Results: A supraorbital craniotomy was performed with details on the technique of the surgery. The secondmajor part of the results comprised of per-operative complications and how to avoid these complications. Conclusion: To treat anterior and middle skull base pathologies, the endoscopic supraorbital keyholecraniotomy is an effective, valuable and minimal access surgical choice.

We determined characteristics in the Chinese stock market during times of crisis by examining the 2008 crash and the 2015 crash. By determining the probability distribution of yearly cross-correlation matrices, we ascertained that during times of crisis, stocks become highly correlated with one another. We also calculated deviating eigenvalues for four year time periods with a two year sliding window in order to find the magnitude of these correlations. Recognizing that the market wide effect clouds true correlations, we first calculated that China has a large market wide effect through inverse participation ratios, and then removed the effect through regression. After removing the market wide effect, we constructed network analysis diagrams for time periods of four years with a two year sliding window to show how different business sectors interact with each other before, during, and after times of crisis. Because there were fewer correlations in the Shanghai Stock Exchange during the 2015 crash, we concluded that the recent downturn is not as severe as the 2008 crash

The classic lines of treatment of significant epistaxis include, vessel compression by packing or similar maneuvers, cauterization using various types of chemicals or heat and ligation or embolization of the bleeding vessel(s). Lauromacrogol is a relatively new compound that has been recently used as a sclerosing material in some vessel-related diseases like varicose veins and Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telengectasia. Objectives: This study compared the efficacy of local sclerotherapy with Lauromacrogol and chemical cautery with chromic acid as treatments for recurrent idiopathic anterior epistaxis in adults. Patients and Methods: Patients were grouped into 2 groups. In group A Lauromacrogol was injected in the submucosa. In group B Chromic acid was applied locally to the surface over the bleeding vessel(s). The primary outcome measure was bleeding control / recurrence d...

Therefore, this study aimed to develop a 2-D mathematical model to simulate CO2 removal from NG stream contains high CO2 concentration up to 70% at high-pressure up to 60 bar using three different dimensions of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) hollow fiber membrane contactors. Aqueous solutions of activated methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) with piperazine (PZ) were adopted. The performance of considered absorbent at high-pressure was evaluated at the non-wetting mode condition of membrane contactor. Moreover, the effect of pressure, contact area, gas flow rate, MDEA concentration into the amine mixture, PZ concentration, temperature and membrane properties were theoretically investigated. The findings stated that activated MDEA had different performance in terms of membrane wetting compared with other amines, which used ...

Impact of Knowledge Management Practices on University Lecturers' Performance in Bauchi and Gombe... more Impact of Knowledge Management Practices on University Lecturers' Performance in Bauchi and Gombe States 1. Introduction Over the past few decades, the need for information and development of knowledge in organizations has progressed from an evolving concept to increasingly essential activities in virtually every organization. This is as result of a shift in strategic thinking from the resource-based view of the firm to the knowledge-based view. Knowledge is considered an organization's most strategic resource and one of the most highly valued commodity in the modern economy (Tajali, Farahani & Baharvand, 2014; Hegazy & Ghorab, 2014). In order to keep abreast with the rapid societal changes, educational institutions especially at the tertiary level, need to understand and master the art of effective creation, collection, dissemination, application and sharing of information (Krubu& Krub, 2011)in ways that strive to improve performance at both individual and organizational level(Oliver, Handzic, & Van Toorn, 2003; Cheng, Ho, & Lau, 2009). One possible way to do so is to ensure that those concerned with managing knowledge are to make certain that the right knowledge get to the right people just in time (Snowden, 2002). The universities are considered as "Knowledge Houses" where knowledge flows among lecturers and down to students through teaching, learning and research and new knowledge is created. Like other organizations, Universities thrive to stay relevant in this knowledge society (Loh, et al., 2003). Any institution of learning is considered relevant due to its all-embracing commitment to knowledge. Lecturers are regarded as the most vital resources of the universities and equally their performance is an important issue in the light of increasing demand for knowledge in the current economy. Effective lecturers' performance remains one of the major determinants of any educative process in the universities

In this study, superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles and the antibiotic vancomycin were loaded into chitosan microbeads cross-linked with varying lengths of polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate. Beads were characterized using degradation, biocompatibility, and elution studies with successive magnetic stimulations at multiple field strengths and frequencies. Thirty-minute magnetic stimulation induced a temporary increase in daily elution rate of up to 45% that was dependent on field strength, field frequency and cross-linker length. Beads degraded by up to 70% after 3 days in accelerated lysozyme degradation tests, but continued to elute antibiotic for up to 8 days. No cytotoxic effects were observed in vitro compared to controls. Th...

This prospective, observational and comparative study recruited novice (n = 24), intermediate (n = 8) and expert urologists (n = 5). All candidates performed a procedure on the GreenLight Simulator within a simulated setting using a standard vital signs monitor and then the Google GLASS. The majority (84%) of participants responded quicker to abnormal signs with the Google GLASS compared to a standard monitor (p = 0.0267). The average simulation score during a standard-monitor and GLASS-session scored to be statistically insignificant (p = 0.253). All parameters of simulation were also similar in both sessions including average sweep speed (p = 0.594), average blood loss (p = 0...
