For such kind of systems, previous results on the existence and uniqueness are available for quasi-monotone systems and other special systems in Lipschitz continuous space. It is worth mentioning that our system includes, in particular, the case of non-decreasing solution where some existence and uniqueness results arose for strictly hyperbolic systems with a small total variation. In the present paper, we consider initial data with unnecessarily small BV seminorm, and we use some BV bounds to prove a global-in-time existence result of this system in the framework of discontinuous viscosity solution.

The belief in the expected redeemer or the Mahdī is a well-known concept in the history of Islam.... more The belief in the expected redeemer or the Mahdī is a well-known concept in the history of Islam. However, the notion has been opened to several interpretations and misinterpretations from various Islamic sects, each asserting that its own version of the Mahdiyyah is authentic and valid. As a result, several Islamic movements were orchestrated under the banner of the Mahdiyyah; prominent among them in Africa are those of Muhammad Ibn Tumart (1080-1130), the patron of the Muwaḥḥidūn State in north Africa, Muḥammad AImad ibn ʿAbdullāh (1844-1885), the architect of the Mahdist State in the Sudan (1881-1898) and Sheikh ʿUsmān Dan Fodio (1754-1817), the founder of the Sokoto Caliphate. This article explores the authenticity of the notion of the Mahdiyyah in Islam, which constitutes the basis for the main discourse of the study, namely, the status of the Mahdiyyah as conceived by Sheikh Usman Dan Fodio, and the resultant impact of the Sheikh’s Mahdiyyah on the Sudanese Mahdiyyah.

This inequality is originated from the Brézis-Gallouët-Wainger logarithmic type inequalities revealing Sobolev embeddings in the critical case. In this paper, we improve the parabolic version of Ogawa inequality by allowing it to cover not only the class of functions from Sobolev spaces, but also the wider class of Hölder continuous functions.

The study firstly applied SRAP technique into genetic diversity of T. matsutake. A total of 129 strains from 13 geographical locations in northeastern China, were amplified by using selected 12 primer pairs. The polymorphic band number amplified by each primer pair ranged from 7 to 13. In total 154 bands were observed, of which 118 were polymorphic (76.62%). Abundant genetic variation was detected within individual populations. Dongning maintained a higher genetic diversity while Hunchun was lower. The analyses found a significant positive correlation between genetic distance and geographical distance and no correlation between genetic distance and altitudinal differences among populations. Based on the UPGMA cluster diagram, the 13 populations may be divided with the genetic distance of 0.035 into three groups.

Two insecticides were used in this study, one of them belongs to the synthetic pyrethroids (Fenvalerate), and the other one is an organophosphorus compounds (Phosfolan). Non-pregnant rats were given orally either fenvalerate (40 mg/kgday after day) or phosfolan (0.7 mg/kg day after day) for two and four months treatment. Pregnant rats were given fenvalerate (40:80 mg/kg per day) or phospholan (0.7:2.3 mg/kg per day) from the first day of gestation till parturition. The organs investigated included the liver, kidney, ovary and uterus. M.H. Abou-Eglaet 3. Ovary Both fenvalerate and phosfolan-treatment caused a decrease in the number of ovarianiollicles. Four months after fenvalerate-treatment, the ovarian follicles were replaced by hyaline fibrosis. 4. Uterus Both insecticides used induced vesicular atrophy of endometrial glands which seemed to be non-secretory. Also, internal haemorrhagic spots were detected.

The response of Foster grapefruit (Citrus paradisi Macf.) to organic and inorganic fertilization ... more The response of Foster grapefruit (Citrus paradisi Macf.) to organic and inorganic fertilization in Sennar area (13°37 0 N-33°37 0 E) representing central Sudan, was studied for two successive seasons (2003/2004 and 2004/2005). Urea, sheep manure and terra-sorb (as foliar) at the rates of 2.17 kg/tree/ year, 20 kg/tree/year and 200 ml/100 L water, respectively, and their combinations were applied to 18 years old trees to determine their effects on fruit yield and quality. The layout was a randomized complete block design replicated three times. Results indicated that all treatments significantly increased average yield over control with inconsistent effects on fruit quality parameters. Trees received urea at the rate of 2.17 kg/tree/year, yielded thick peel fruits of reduced vitamin C. Sheep manure at the rate of 20 kg/tree/year resulted in dark green fruits of thick peel. The foliar treated trees at the rate of 200 ml/100 L water gave little thick peel fruits of lower total soluble solids, low % titrable acidity and low vitamin C. The best fruits reflected by color, thinner peel, high % TSS and high vitamin C were obtained from urea + sheep manure treatment. Application of urea with foliar gave green large fruits. Small fruits of intensive green color on surface and low titrable acidity were recorded by combination of sheep manure and foliar. Application of the three fertilizers together gave fruits of dark green color on surface and thick peel. Therefore, application of 2.17 kg urea + 20 kg sheep manure/tree/year is recommended to Foster grapefruit trees in Sennar area and areas of similar environmental conditions.

Therefore, the water, especially those used for recreational activities, must be of a very good quality to be able to increase the national income. Objectives To investigate the conventional water-quality bacteria, total coliforms (TC), Escherichia coli (EC), and fecal streptococci (FS), in the Egyptian coastal waters of Suez and Aqaba Gulfs and the Red Sea. Materials and methods A total of 2372 surface water samples were collected from 42 sampling sites during 12 years (1998-2009) to detect and estimate TC, EC, and FS using the membrane filtration method. Results On the basis of the national and international bacterial standards, 540 samples (22.8%) out of 2372 were found to exceed the guide values (positive samples) and were not accepted for marine recreational purposes. During the course of the study, Suez Gulf showed the highest positive records of 54 and 96 for TC and EC, respectively, whereas FS recorded 94 and 88 positive samples in the Red Sea and Suez Gulf, respectively. The lowest positive records were found in 1998 and 2009, whereas the highest were in 2000 and 2002-2004. The highest polluted sampling sites were recorded in Su7 (Suez Gulf), Aq2 (Aqaba Gulf), and Re15 (Red Sea), and were generally affected by sewage disposal and/or anthropogenic influences. Conclusion and recommendations The most polluted sites were in the Suez Gulf, reaching 238 sites, followed by 194 sites in the Red Sea, whereas the Aqaba Gulf had only 108 polluted sites. Moreover, the most polluted sample locations throughout the study were Su7, Aq2, and Re15, without implementation of corrective actions from authorized organizations. The data of the current study must be taken into consideration by the government for a safer and cleaner seawater in the eastern Egyptian coasts, especially those in which critical limitations in terms of microbial pollution are found.

The selection of an appropriate pre-treatment technique remains one of the major challenges in developing economically viable technologies for bioethanol production from straw. Several pre-treatment techniques have been considered by different workers including mechanical pre-treatment, irradiation, chemical, fungal and hot water treatment. Review of available pre-treatment techniques and the factors that are most relevant in the choice of an appropriate pre-treatment can play an important role in increasing the efficiency of bioethanol production.
