An acceptable repair method includes sewer lining of the pipelines as a means to improve the hydraulic capacity of the sewer lines and extend the sewer system life expectancy by 100 years. Typical sewer lining systems include:

Several cases responding to immunosuppressive therapy have been recently reported, however. We describe a patient who developed fulminant heart failure requiring heart transplantation. Examination of the explanted heart confirmed the diagnosis of giant cell myocarditis.

This arrangement allows a single terminated fiber or fiber loop to monitor several locations in an industrial plant, process line, or engineered structure. The most common way of providing discrimination between the different FBGs is to use FBGs with slightly different wavelengths. Several schemes have been proposed to separate these signals in the wavelength domain, using a tunable laser, an optical spectrum analyzer, or multiple filters. One technique combines a single broadband source with a programmable spectral processor (PSP) that acts as a programmable filter. The flexibility of the PSP allows this approach to be optimized for tracking both AC (" alternating current, " or rapidly oscillating about zero) and DC (" direct current, " or steady) signals. It can also be used to set up a carrier/sideband form of signal demodulation. Moreover, the ability to create customized, nonlinear filter slopes allows a linear signa...

The even/odd decomposition of the kernel can be understood as a sum of a diffusion and a drift term. In our case we assume that such drift have the order smaller than or equal to the diffusion and at least one. For example we can say something about the following equation Delta1/2u+∣Du∣=f\Delta^{1/2}u + |Du| = fDelta1/2u+∣Du∣=f. The main step relies in a localized version of the Aleksandrov-Bakelman-Pucci estimate. Our estimates are also uniform as the order of the equation goes to two.

The scalar fields interact between them and we also consider a self-interaction term. lt is proved that when k=-1 and k= 0 only one physical asymptotic ...

We show that when length(\gamma )<2\pi length(γ)<2π the free boundary avoids the vertex of the cone. When length(\gamma )\ge 2\pi length(γ)≥2π we provide examples of minimizers such that the vertex belongs to the free boundary.

The morphological changes induced by n -irradiation have been investigated by X-ray diffraction, small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Significant changes on nylon 6-12 fiber surfaces are detected as the dose of irradiation increases.

This article focuses on the Posada Sin Fronteras, an annual political and religious-informed event that calls attention to the rising death toll at the U.S.-Mexico border caused by changes in U.S. border enforcement policies. Based on ethnographic data and on-the-spot interviews with participants at the event, this article analyzes the Posada as a collective ritual and examines the meanings it holds for its varied participants. The crisis in U.S. immigration and border enforcement policies, and the cultural influences brought about by Mexican and, to lesser extent, Central American immigration provide the conditions for the Posada. Interfaith religious morality allows for the adoption of Mexican and Catholic cultural forms by diverse groups, including people who are of neither Mexican nor Catholic heritage. We refer to this process as “religio-ethnic cultural expansion,” and we suggest that religious discourse of Christian kinship, unity, and shared humanity constitute one of the key forces animating the post-national challenge to nation-state border and citizenship policies.
