Due to mercury inside, amalgam used in restorative dental has always been the subject of debate. Studies have been performed on mercury in terms of nörotoksikoloji. However, the effects of mercury on the nervous system has not been clarified. Microleakage of mercury comes out of amalgam and this mercury can pass through the blood brain barrier. A portion of the authors in their study stated that microleakage of mercury can be tolerated; while others pointed out that microleakage of mercury can not be tolerated. However; mercury which penetrates the body is located in the etiology of diseases such as Alzheimer, chronic fatigue, and multiple sclerosis (MS). In this paper, it has been described that whether there is a relationship between MS and amalgam restorative materials.

Methods: Vickers hardness (HV) of nano-hybrid resin-based composites (RBCs) containing a novel monomer composition based on tricyclodecane– urethane structure (TCD-urethane) [Venus Diamond Bulk Fill, Hearus Kulzer, Germany] compared to conventionally formulated nano-hybrid RBCs [TetricEvo- Ceram Bulk Fill, IvoclarVivadent] for 20 and 40 second using (Elipar S10, 3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN, USA). Results: The highest hardness value was shown in Bulk Fill 60 sec (HV= 65.15 2.22), while the lowest was observed in Bulk Fill TetricEvo Ceram 40 sec (HV= 61.03 1.63). There is no significant increase in Hardness value during irradiation time for both Bulk Fill Venus Diamond (p=0.456), and Bulk Fill TetricEvo Ceram (p=0.288).

The color of all specimens before and after storage in the solutions were measured by a spectrophotometer based on CIE Lab system that is recommended by the American Dental Association and the color differences thereby is calculated. Materials and Methods: The color differences of three nano‐hybrid composites after immersion for 30 days in tea and coffee as aggressive beverage solutions. Results: Within the limitations of the study, Venus Diamond was found the most color stable in tea, while Ceram X was shown the most color stable in coffee. There were statistically significant differences between Filtek 350 XT in tea and coffee storage (P < 0.005), but there weren’t statistically significant in tea and coffee in both Ceram X, and in Venus Diamond (P > 0.005). Conclusion: Staining solutions are significant factors that affect color stability of composite resins.

The system in which both the bed of the samples and the camera of X-ray is moving shows the highest level of image resolution. Through computerized tomography, it is posibble to obtain information from the object image, to handle cross-sectional images obtained in different ways by editing, to obtain the desired color regions, and to focus on area of interest asnd then remove that area. In this article, after giving information about Micro CT, especially in applications of restorative dentistry; the information has been given about in which areas and with what purpose it can be used. However; it has been explained that whether the use of micro CT alone in the studies done is sufficient or not.

Methods: Initial color was recorded for specimens fabricated from nano resin based composite with novel monomer and conventional one. Specimens were stored at 37 C in coffee, for 3 months. Color changes were categorized using the CIE Lab color system. Data were submitted to analysis of variance for repeated measures, one-way ANOVA test (a = 0.05). Results: The methacrylate-based resins based composites with novel monomers stored in coffee were significantly more stable by coffee than conventional methacrylate-based composites. They showed that ΔE of Venus Diamond (ΔE= 4.816 ± 0.568) was less than ΔE of Filtek Z350 XT (ΔE= 6.067 ± 0.725). There were no significant changes observed in ΔE both Venus Diamond composite and Filtek Z 350 XT. (P =0.05). Conclusions: There were a slight effect of the immersion solution was noticed on color change in one of highest aggressive organic beverage materials. Color stability is material dependent.
