In this paper, the formation of an ultrasonic field can be generated by the vibration of a tool head driven by magnetostrictive transmitters. Based on the simulation environment of Comsol Multiphysics software, the numerical study about the characteristics of ultrasonic standing wave sound field was carried out. The influence of the arrangement of transducer, the shape and parameters of transducer tool head, the length of resonator and the pressure of environment on the sound pressure was studied. Then, the influence of ultrasonic frequency on the ultrasonic standing wave sound field was studied. It could be seen that the sound pressure distribution is better when the double transmitters were facing each other, the length of the cavity was with n = 5 sound pressure nodes, and the to...

Research paper thumbnail of Ship Detection for Polarimetric Sar Images Via Graph-Based Sparse Manifold Ranking

The main framework comprises a coarse-to-fine scheme. We employ the image intensity for prescreening and introduce graph-based sparse manifold ranking (GSMR) for discrimination. The distance between the ship and clutter in sparse code domain is explored. And the image elements in candidate region are ranked based on the prescreening priors and the new distance in graph labeling framework. The final detection result is produced with the ranking procedure. Experiments performed on two RADARSAT-2 images demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

Patients suffer from compulsive perceptions and engage in a large number of meaningless repetitive behaviors. This article synthesizes national and international research on the neurological causes of OCD, summarizes the current understanding of OCD by analyzing abnormalities in the basal ganglia, cortico-striato-thalamo-cortical, CSTC, insula, gray matter, white matter structures, and then proposes a rational treatment plan.

Through an objective evaluation of their prospects by adopting the principal component analysis to analyze the 60 indicators in use in output efficiency, economic structure, economic sustainability, output consumption, growth potential, environmental quality, government operational efficiency, social security, people’s livelihood and consumption structure, this chapter has obtained the indicators and rankings of the development prospects of China’s 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities (except Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan regions and Tibet autonomous region) in 1990–2013. By making further detailed first-indicator evaluations, it has...

This paper develops a general forest structure model for vegetation height estimation using polarimetric interferometric synthetic aperture radar (PolInSAR) data. In simple terms, the temporal decorrelation factor of the random volume over ground model with volumetric temporal decorrelation (RVoG-vtd) is first modeled by random motions of forest scatterers to solve the problem of ambiguity. Then, a novel four-stage algorithm is proposed to improve accuracy in forest height estimation. In particular, to compensate for the temporal decorrelation mainly caused by changes between multiple observations, one procedure of temporal decorrelation adaptive estimation via Expectation-Maximum (EM) algorithm is added into the novel method. On the other hand, to extract the features of amplitude and phase more effectively, in the proposed method, we also convert ...

The phase-space average energy transferred per deactivating collision, ⟨∆E down ⟩, was obtained. The Buckingham pairwise intermolecular potentials were validated against high-level quantum chemistry calculations and used in the simulations. The reactive force-field was used to describe intramolecular potentials. The dependence of ⟨∆E down ⟩ on initial vibrational energy is discussed. A canonical sampling method was compared with a microcanonical sampling method for selecting initial vibrational energy at high bath gas temperatures. Uncertainties introduced by the initial angular momentum distribution were identified. The dependence of the collisional energy transfer parameters on the type of bath gas and the molecular structure of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons was examined.

However, extracting discriminative features to implement ship detection is still a challenging problem. In this paper, we propose a novel ship detection method for PolSAR images via task-driven discriminative dictionary learning (TDDDL). An assumption that ship and clutter information are sparsely coded under two separate dictionaries is made. Contextual information is considered by imposing superpixel-level joint sparsity constraints. In order to amplify the discrimination of the ship and clutter, we impose incoherence constraints between the two sub-dictionaries in the objective of feature coding. The discriminative dictionary is trained jointly with a linear classifier in task-driven dictionary learning (TDDL) framework. Based on the learnt dictionary and classifier, we extract discriminative features by sparse coding, and obtain robust...

Turkey ear is a clinically descriptive term, used for a massively enlarged earlobe with bluish-red or violaceous indurated plaques and nodules, which can be a sign of lupus vulgaris. A 47-year-old female presented with edema and reddish ulcerated lesions on both ears which was diagnosed as lupus vulgaris by conventional laboratory investigations and the patient showed good response to antituberculous therapy. Occurrence of turkey ears in lupus pernio (sarcoidosis) should also be mentioned here as this presentation was originally described in this condition. Two case reports of turkey ear have been reported with cutaneous tuberculosis (not bilateral). However, occurrence of bilateral turkey ears in cutaneous tuberculosis has not been described so far in the literature.
