In this article we show that there are logical weaknesses in the textbook geometry model of deriving the classical math formular describing the double slit experiment. Then, we propose a new geometry model and derive a new math formular for describing the double slit experiment without logical weakness. We also show that it is a challenge to interpret the phenomena of the comprehensive double slit experiment.

In reality, it contains the only mystery. We cannot make the mystery go away by 'explaining' how it works". To study the mystery, the double slit experiments were performed one photon at the time. The photons are described by probability wave function. To interpret, the concept of the collapse of the wave function is utilized. However, the collapse of the wave function leads to the inconsistent/incomplete of the quantum mechanics (Penrose, 2022). In this article, we propose Postulate: the diaphragm, e.g., the slide of the double slit, does not change the nature of the light passing through it. Then we perform multi-experiments to test Postulate, and show that, before and after passing the diaphragm of the double slit, the light is photons. It is photons that produce the wave pattern, e.g., the interference pattern. We referred the phenomena as "PhotonWave Phenomena". Particle phenomena Wave phenomena Light as wave non Light waves produce wave patterns Light as photons Photons produce ejection of electrons: Photoelectric effect Photons produce wave patterns: PhotoWave phenomena A complete interpretation should consistently explain all of the experiments, which challenges the existing wave theories. The experiments show the coexistence of particle nature and wave pattern in the same experiment, which violate Bohr's complementarity principle and the wave interpretations. The experiments provide the comprehensive phenomena for developing theoretical model to study the nature of the light, the complementarity principle, the wave-particle duality, and wave theories.

In reality, it contains the only mystery. We cannot make the mystery go away by 'explaining' how it works". To study the mystery, we perform the non-crossing-slit-experiments and crossing-slit experiments and show phenomena: (1) in the same double slit or cross double slit experiments, the non-interference patterns gradually evolve to the interference patterns; (2) in the same single slit or cross single slit experiments, the non-diffraction patterns gradually evolve to the diffraction patterns; (3) in the same two-non-parallel-slits experiment, the non-wave patterns gradually evolve to the hybrid pattern (i.e., interference-pattern-embedded-in-diffraction-pattern); (4) in the same curved-double slit experiments, the non-interference patterns evolve to Seashell-shape interference patterns. The above phenomena show new mysteries that are more mysterious than that of the double slit experiments: it is challenge to consistently explain how they work. Those novel phenomena indicate that the standard theories of the double slit are incomplete. Novel experiments bring the search for the new theory of physical/quantum optics.

In this article, utilize the fact that each slit of the cross double slit (e.g., one double slit crossing another double slit) is divided into three segments by other two slits crossing, we experimentally show the function of each segment of each slit in producing both non-interference patterns (including Pre-Particle patterns, Particle patterns and Transition Patterns) and the Interference patterns by eliminate the segments respectively and then, compare with the standard patterns of the cross double slit experiment. Although the non-interference patterns of different modified cross double slits are obviously different, the final interference patterns are surprisingly similar. This phenomenon is a new mystery and needs a consistent theoretical interpretation. In the case of applying the interference patterns of the cross double slit diaphragms, this phenomenon allows a bigger tolerance on the defect of making the cross double slit diaphragm.

Young’s double slit experiments have been explained as the consequence of the Superposition of wa... more Young’s double slit experiments have been explained as the consequence of the Superposition of waves. For the cross double slit experiments, in this article, we propose the Superposition of patterns, which is that, at certain distance from the diaphragm, the entire pattern of a cross double slit experiment is the superimpose of the patterns produced by the corresponding either single slit or double slit or triple slit, etc.
P1 P2 P3 Superposition of pattern is valid:
yes or no
L = 10 mm No.
Since there is fine structure in P3, so
P1+P2≠P3
P1 and P2 are Particle patterns.
P3 is Pre-Particle pattern

Since there is no fine structure in P3, so
P1+P2=P3
P1, P2 and P3 are Particle patterns.
L=1100 mm Yes.
P1+P2=P3
P1, P2 and P3 are interference patterns.
The Superposition principle of patterns is valid for the Particle patterns and the Interference patterns at certain distance from the diaphragm, while is not valid for the Pre-particle patterns and Transition patterns. The mystery is that when crossing two slits at an angle, the fine structures emerge, which destroyed the Superposition principle of patterns.
