The film has as its main setting a school in the state of Bahia, where some students compete for the control of the student's council, while others create a pirate radio to spread anarchistic ideas. These articulations take place in the period of the post-dictatorship years in Brazil, in 1985. In this context, the article intends to think the construction of counter spaces in the images presented by the film, considering the framing, the timing of the shots in the editing of the film, and the composition of the frames. This way, the article proposes to develop a filmic analysis towards the relationship between cinema, education and philosophy, from a cartographic construction of the heterotopias of the images.

By stating this, we intend to perform a reflection on human sciences, with special focus on historicism. Positivism is then here understood as the negative way of human sciences, considering its denial of the classical philosophy of modernity as non pertinent to the formulation of the method for the new sciences. Consequently, the theory of knowledge was suppressed from scientific sphere and replace by the theory of science as convalidation instance for scientific knowledge. A possibility to overcome the limitations imposed by positivism in G. Vico's forgotten project. During the first half of XVIIIth century, Vico was dedicated to emancipating the study of the objective manifestations of the spirit, by means of reforming cartesian rationalism.

Focus is given on the philosophy of Vico, whose influence is to be found in the early writings of Horkheimer. Modernity is then critized by retaking the concept of barbarism, which, in the sphere of philosophy, is opposed to the concept of Enlightenment, as understood during the XVIIIth century
