In the late second and third centuries there arose two theological arguments in which the first n... more In the late second and third centuries there arose two theological arguments in which the first negates the Trinitarian concept and the other affirms it but still pronounced as heresy. Both possessed the purpose of protecting the notion of the monotheistic view of God. They tried to harmonize “the faith in one God with the Christian faith in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” They even came up to a precise definition of the relationship between Christ and God. However, it gave an “excessive emphasis on the unity of God”.
