are collected for experimental investigation in Western Greece during a five–year period (1993 – 1997).
During this period, many major destructive earthquake events occurred that caused human casualties and
extended material damages. The collection and processing of geoelectric measurements was done by an
automated data acquisition system at the Seismological Laboratory of the University of Patras, Greece.
This novel study considers seismic activity of this area as a typical linear dynamic system and the dynamic
relationship between the magnitude of earthquakes and Long – Term Geoelectric Potential signals is
inferred by the Recursive Least Square algorithm. The results are encouraging and show that linear
dynamic systems, which are widely used in modern control theory, can describe efficiently the dynamic
behavior of seismic activity and become a useful interpretative tool of seismic phenomenon.

The inability of optimization algorithms alone to fully satisfy the needs of logistic managers become obvious in transportation field due to the spatial nature of such problems. In this context, we couple a geographical information system (GIS) with a metaheuristic to handle the VRP efficiently then generate a geographical solution instead of the numerical solution. A real-case instance in a Tunisian region is studied in order to test the proposed approach.

The most famous estimation tool in target tracking is Kalman filter. There are several mathematical approaches to combine the observations of multiple sensors by use of Kalman filter. An important issue in applying a proper approach is computational complexity. In this paper, four data fusion algorithms based on Kalman filter are considered including three centralized and one decentralized methods. Using MATLAB, computational loads of these methods are compared while number of sensors increases. The results show that inverse covariance method has the best computational performance if the number of sensors is above 20. For a smaller number of sensors, other methods, especially group sensors, are more appropriate..

For example, audio processors, designed to control pitch in vocal and instrumental operations. The main aim of auto tuning is to conceal off-key errors, and allowing artists to perform genuinely despite slight deviation off-key. In this paper two Auto tuning control strategies are proposed. These are Proportional, Integral and Derivative (PID) control and Model Predictive Control (MPC). The PID and MPC controller’s algorithms
amalgamate the auto tuning method. These control strategies ascertains stability, effective and efficient performance on a nonlinear system. The paper test and compare the efficacy of each control strategy. This
paper generously provides systematic tuning techniques for the PID controller than the MPC controller. Therefore in essence the PID has to give effective and efficient performance compared to the MPC. The
PID depends mainly on three terms, the P ( ) gain, I ( ) gain and lastly D ( ) gain for control each playing unique role while the MPC has more information used to predict and control a system

In this research work, we have put an emphasis on reliability assessment of any distributed embedded system through Monte-Carlo simulation. We have done this assessment on random data which represents input voltages ranging from 0 volt to 12 volt; several numbers of trials have been executed on those data to check the average case behavior of a distributed real time embedded system. From the experimental result, a saturation point has been achieved against the time behavior which shows the average case behavior of the concerned distributed embedded system.

Both of the methods are designed using message embedded scheme and are analyzed for their validity, for plaintext sensitivity, key sensitivity, known plaintext and brute-force attacks. Due to the less key space generally many chaotic cryptosystem developed are found to be weak against Brute force attack which is an essential issue to be solved. For this issue, concept of identifiability proved to be a necessary condition to be fulfilled by the designed chaotic cipher to resist brute force attack, which is a basic attack. As 2-D chaotic maps provide more key space than 1-D maps thus they are considered to be more suitable. This work is accompanied with analysis results obtained from these developed cipher. Moreover, identifiable keys are searched for different input texts at various key values. The methods are found to have good key sensitivity and possess identifiable keys thus concluding that they can resist linear attacks and brute-force attacks.

In hybrid synchronization of master and slave systems, the odd states of the two systems are completely synchronized, while their even states are antisynchronized. The stability results derived in this paper for the hybrid synchronization of identical hyperchaotic Liu systems have been proved using Lyapunov stability theory. Since the Lyapunov exponents are not required for these calculations, the sliding mode control method is very effective and convenient to achieve anti-synchronization of the identical hyperchaotic Liu systems. Numerical simulations are shown to illustrate and validate the hybrid synchronization schemes derived in this paper for the identical hyperchaotic Liu systems.

In projects various systems come together to deliver the required outcome(s). The most common type of project complexity mentioned / considered in practice is the technical complexity and this has always been considered a main factor which affects project performance. Despite that, projects are delivered by people who interface continuously and therefore are effected by complexity, and in particular that caused by socio-organo interfaces and the boundaries between the various teams and parties. This has not been investigated. Socio-organo complexity leads to reduction in performance if interconnections are not managed. Research has been carried out to understand the effects of complexity through project management processes on project schedule and performance, aiming towards the development of a tool and identification of actions that will enable the management of these effects. The author presents results of five case studies, which demonstrate that socio-organo complexity affects performance and these results have similarities with the behaviour of underdamped control systems. The results have significant implications on the way socio-organisational complexity can be managed, how processes are implemented, but also enable parallels to be drawn between the fields of project management and control systems. Considering control systems theory proposals are made in this paper for actions to be taken which will contribute towards the management of the effects of socio-organo complexity on projects.

The PID and MPC controller's algorithms amalgamate the auto tuning method. These control strategies ascertains stability, effective and efficient performance on a nonlinear system. The paper test and compare the efficacy of each control strategy. This paper generously provides systematic tuning techniques for the PID controller than the MPC controller. Therefore in essence the PID has to give effective and efficient performance compared to the MPC. The PID depends mainly on three terms, the P () gain, I () gain and lastly D () gain for control each playing unique role while the MPC has more information used to predict and control a system.

During this period, many major destructive earthquake events occurred that caused human casualties and extended material damages. The collection and processing of geoelectric measurements was done by an automated data acquisition system at the Seismological Laboratory of the University of Patras, Greece. This novel study considers seismic activity of this area as a typical linear dynamic system and the dynamic relationship between the magnitude of earthquakes and Long – Term Geoelectric Potential signals is inferred by the Recursive Least Square algorithm. The results are encouraging and show that linear dynamic systems, which are widely used in modern control theory, can describe efficiently the dynamic behavior of seismic activity and become a useful interpretative tool of seismic phenomenon. In this paper, we have introduced a diseased prey-predator model with periodically varying carrying capacity. We have studied the effects of different amplitudes of oscillaton as well as different frequencies of oscillation on the dynamics of the model. We have done bifurcation analysis of the model with respect to the amplitude of oscillation and frequency of oscillation of the carrying capacity. We observe limit cycle, low periodic orbits, high periodic orbits and chaos in the model. We observe the existence of critical frequency and amplitude of oscillation of carrying capacity for which the prey population extinct. Through bifurcation analysis we observe oscillatory coexistence of species in the model. Our results confirm that amplitude and frequency of oscillation of carrying capacity are key parameters together with the force of infection and body size of intermediate predator in a diseased prey-predator model.
