Established in 2003, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was tasked with combating economic and financial offenses, including corruption. This study aimed to assess the impact of anti-corruption efforts, particularly the role of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Nigeria's economy. A survey research design was employed, with data collected through 109 structured questionnaires administered to personnel from various units of the EFCC at the Enugu state branch. Out of the questionnaires distributed, 100 were properly filled out and returned for analysis. Respondents were selected using a simple random sampling technique. The collected data were processed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0. Descriptive statistical tools, such as simple percentages presented in tables and charts, were used to analyze and interpret the questionnaire data. The study revealed several key findings. Firstly, it emphasized the importance of the fight against corruption in Nigeria. Secondly, it highlighted the positive impact of anti-corruption efforts on the country's economy. Thirdly, it found that the EFCC has been making progress in combating corruption. Lastly, it confirmed that corruption hinders Nigeria's economic development. In conclusion, this study casts a glaring spotlight on the corrosive impact of corruption on Nigeria's economy, translating to staggering losses exceeding $100 billion in GDP. Consequently, the research emphasized the necessity of intensifying anti-corruption efforts. It proposed recommendations to address this issue, including the strengthening of anti-corruption agencies, the improvement of legal frameworks, and the promotion of economic growth as crucial steps towards achieving sustainable development in Nigeria.

Smallholder farmers in the region face challenges in achieving sustainable agricultural development due to limited access to information, resources, and markets. The study reviews research, reports, and publications on communication networks among farmers in Africa and highlights their importance in improving farming techniques. Various networks like informal networks, extension services, mobile-based platforms, and farmer cooperatives are evaluated for their strengths, weaknesses, and usage levels. However, limited access to technology, insufficient funding, and lack of institutional support hinder the effectiveness of these networks. The study recommends addressing these challenges by improving technology access, increasing funding, and strengthening institutional support. The findings highlight the significance of farmer-to-farmer communication networks in bridging the knowledge gap and improving agricultural productivity. Continued research and collaboration are crucial for the sustainability and success of these networks in promoting sustainable practices in sub-Saharan Africa.

A thorough literature review is conducted to understand the social resilience strategies and adaptive practices employed by these communities. The study highlights the dependence of agriculture on weather and climate factors, and the environmental challenges posed by unsustainable land management practices. It emphasizes the disproportionate impact of climate change on Africa, particularly Nigeria, ranking it as one of the most vulnerable countries. Various climate change adaptation strategies are explored, including crop diversification, early planting, access to climate information, and climate-resilient infrastructure. The study recognizes the importance of education, awarenessraising initiatives, livelihood diversification, and international collaboration in enhancing resilience. Based on the findings, recommendations are provided to strengthen climate change adaptation strategies, such as improving climate information systems, enhancing sustainable agriculture practices, promoting crop diversification, investing in climate-resilient infrastructure, fostering community-based approaches, and strengthening international collaboration.

It investigates the relationship between economic inequality and political conflict in Africa and assesses how political conflicts affect economic inequality. The study also examines the role of political leaders in addressing conflicts in Africa. The study employs a qualitative research method, conducting a systematic literature review to gather and evaluate relevant studies on economic inequality and political conflict in Africa. The study applies the Human Needs theory, developed by John Burton, as a theoretical framework to comprehend the underlying causes of conflicts. This theory highlights unmet fundamental human needs like security, recognition, identity, and livelihood. The findings of the research indicate that economic inequality significantly contributes to political conflict in Africa, and conflicts have adverse effects on the African economy. The study recommends that policymakers in Africa should implement policies promoting economic equality to mitigate conflicts, and political leaders should take proactive measures to resolve conflicts on the continent.

Nigeria, as the most populous country in Africa, is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change on its agricultural sector. The research conducts a comprehensive literature review and synthetic analysis to identify the key factors that make Nigeria's food production systems susceptible to climate change. Nigeria's diverse climate, influenced by latitude, topography, winds, ocean currents, and the Sahara Desert, contributes to its vulnerability. Agriculture is crucial for food security, economic development, and livelihoods in Nigeria, making it particularly susceptible to climate change. The study examines the relationship between climate change and agriculture in Nigeria, discussing key challenges, possible consequences, and adaptation strategies. Impacts of climate change on Nigeria's food security include increased droughts, desertification, pests and diseases, unpredictable weather, decreased fishery productivity, and limited access to resources and technology. To mitigate these impacts and enhance resilience, the study suggests various adaptations and strategies such as crop diversification, utilization of improved varieties, efficient water management, sustainable soil practices, climate-smart agriculture, capacity building, access to credit and insurance,

The study reveals that corruption is widespread and poses significant challenges to Nigeria's development and good governance, while accountability has been a significant concern due to corruption, mismanagement of public resources, and a lack of effective systems to hold politicians and public officials accountable. The study adopts Principal-Agent Theory, Resource Curse Theory, Political Settlement Theory, and Structural analysis theory frameworks to provide valuable insights for policymakers to address corruption and promote accountability in Nigeria's political structures. The study recommends that the Nigerian government and other stakeholders take immediate and concrete actions to address corruption and promote accountability in the country. This could be achieved by promoting transparency, strengthening the justice system, and fostering a culture of integrity and ethical values in public service and governance. Ultimately, the study underscores the need for sustained efforts and collaboration by all stakeholders to move Nigeria towards a more accountable, transparent, and prosperous society.

The challenges associated with leadership and developments in Nigeria are well documented, especially in this age of globalization. While many tend to blame the North's industrialized western nations, the source of Nigeria's problems lies in the country's own leadership response to critical issues, including poverty, food security, political instability, and technological development. The study aims to determine the nature, effect, and remedy of leadership and development in the Igbo-Eze North local Government Area of Enugu state. The study utilized a multi-stage sampling method with a sample size of 360 respondents. Face and content validity and Cronbach alpha were employed to validate and evaluate the reliability of the questionnaire. Data was gathered from the respondents through questionnaire method, and descriptive statistics featuring simple percentage and mean were used to analyze the data. The results demonstrated that poor leadership and underdevelopment were prevalent in Igbo-Eze North, with embezzlement, favoritism, and bribery characterizing leadership in the region during the last two political dispensations. Additionally, leadership was discovered to have a significant influence on development in the area. The study also proposes potential solutions to leadership and underdevelopment problems, such as reframing leadership, overhauling the educational and healthcare systems, and constructing a healthy economy. The report proposes remedies, including rebuilding the educational and healthcare systems, and creating a thriving economy, to address leadership and underdevelopment in the specific area and throughout Nigeria.
