A measurement algorithm is established to construct a road friction-measuring device. Next, the tires are selected for use in the measurements and their characteristics are measured using a bench tire characteristic tester. The measuring device is designed and constructed based on these characteristics. Finally, using this device, the measurement results of the road friction characteristics for two types of road surfaces are presented.

As an example region to analyze traffic flow,we decided to measure the feature of traffic flow at a region of Beijing city in China. As a result,it is clear that the influence of bicycles on the traffic flow had big effect to the surrounding vehicles. After the consideration,a global traffic simulator was designed by using of the celular automaton which is one of a typical procedural method to construct a modeling for complex system. Next,a basic structure design of a local traffic simulator has been done.In this simulator,it aimed to express characteristics of vehicle dynamics, for example right and left turning in intersection, the lane change maneuver, obstacle avoidance, etc, and also to express control behavior of drivers, for example steer action, breaking control, throttle control and so on. Here, the ...

Therefore, the lowest degree of freedom for two wheeled vehicle compared with the four-wheeled vehicle rises. Furthermore, as the two wheeled vehicle has unstable or less-stable characteristics, a lot of researches for two wheeled vehicle have been poured into three typical modes, capsize, weave, and wobble. However, these modes except the capsize have usually little effect to ordinary behavior of recent motorcycle under the ordinary running speed. Therefore, when we evaluate the motorcycle, sometimes, characteristics of steady state turning and reaction force of the steer bar are used for motorcycle evaluation. As the first stage, characteristics of steady state turning of two wheeled vehicle on constant radius are analyzed, and the stability factor and side slip coefficient for two wheeled vehicle are proposed as follows; Next, using the two ...

In simulator development, sense of realism is divided into riding sensation and handling feeling. In addition, they are governed by the motion equation and the required pseudo-experience. In this study, we show the effectiveness of wide-angle change and stereoscopic vision in the front visual information. Also, we show that we could lower the degree of freedom of the system in normal travelling conditions. After that, we ensured the equation of motion could be stable at all speed ranges. Through these measures, we were able to reproduce the sense of a real vehicle's riding feeling and handling feeling. Since this simulator is able to generate a higher sense of presence than conventional RS, we were able to create a tool for analyzing the behavior of rider steering.

Because the behavior of this proposed vehicle is similar to that of a two-wheeled one, it is necessary to examine the PMV and its potential for interference with other vehicles in the midst of ordinary road traffic. Therefore, we developed a microscale traffic simulator, including a driver model and a road transportation system, taking into account vehicle dynamics. We also analyzed simulation results in order to ensure that the PMV is compatible with the microscale traffic flow.

In an automated driving such levels, the controller needs to control the vehicle, but the road surface condition, especially the road friction coefficient on wet roads, snowy or icy roads, changes greatly, and in some cases, changes by almost one order. Therefore, it is necessary for the controller to constantly collect environment information such as the road friction coefficients and prepare for emergencies such as obstacle avoidance. However, at present, the measurement of the road friction coefficients is not systemically performed, and a method for accurately measuring has not been established. In order to improve this situation, this study examines a method for continuously measurement for the road friction characteristics such as μ-s characteristics.
